These days, people turn to Amazon to order just about everything. What started as the go-to online bookseller has quickly become the virtual store for diapers, clothes, household items, and pretty much anything you need when you don’t want to leave your house. But one couple got a little more than they bargained for when they made a recent purchase through Amazon. Sixty-five pounds more to be exact.

The Orlando, Fla.. couple ordered four plastic garbage totes. But the package that arrived weighed a total of 93 pounds. They knew something was off when they realized how heavy it was. The totes were indeed there, but what was inside was surprising: 65 pounds of marijuana.

The police confiscated the drugs and began an investigation. An Amazon spokesperson told ABC Local news WFTV, “Our customer service team worked directly with the customer to address concerns and will work with law enforcement to investigate the case, as needed.” The couple received a $150 Amazon card for their troubles.

According to WFTV, “[t]he couple then became afraid, fearing the ‘rightful’ owner of the marijuana would break into their home to get their hands on the goods.”

The package originated in a facility in Massachusetts, and it remains unclear whom the intended recipient of the drugs was.
