5 Suggested Plots for the Next Indiana Jones Flick

Yes, you heard right. Harrison Ford is going to star in Indiana Jones 5.  Ford, who was born on July 13, 1942, will be 76 years old. Now, that is far from the World Record.  Norman Lloyd is still active at 101. Still, Norman is not punching out bad guys. Clearly, there are going to have to be some accommodations for a geriatric action hero. Indiana Jones might hunt for the secret of youth and eternal life—but that was done in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). You could add a young protégé. No, that was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008). Well, what to do to lighten the load on the old man?

Here are five plot lines that might work:

#5 Team Jones

How about Jones recruits a team to back him up, like in the Seven Samurai (1954)?  Having back-up would take some of the pressure off the aging star.

#4 Flashback Jones

The English Patient (1996) used flashbacks to carry most of the movie’s narrative. Ford could spend most of his flick reflecting on films one through four.

#3 Fake-Out Ford

In the 1960 thriller Psycho the supposed star Janet Leigh got killed right off the bat. That would work for Indiana, saving a lot of wear and tear on Ford.

#2 Virtual Ford

Avatar (2009) had more CGI animation than live-action actors. That would be perfect for Ford, who could play most of the movie from a couch in front of a green screen.

#1 Invisible Jones

If Indiana Jones quested for an invisibility cloak, Ford could spend his time just doing voice-overs like in Hollow Man (2000).

Just thinking here, Disney suits—I want a check if you use any of this.
