Supreme Court defends the First Amendment

The Supreme Court issued a major defense of the First Amendment today.  The Court ruled that forcing citizens to fund political candidates (and handicaping other candidates who don’t use government money) violates the First Amendment.  The Institute for Justice and the Goldwater Institute brought the case.  Hans von Spakovsky has this summary of the Court’s important ruling today.
