Soccer teams representing two Islamic governments that enforce or permit sharia-based penalties for homosexuality—including flogging or even death—are set to play in Seattle on Friday under LGBTQ banners in what activists proudly called a “Pride Match.”
Leftists love to side with Islamic jihadis, but it never occurs to these same lefties that they would be whipped, raped, and/or executed in the areas where the terrorists for whom they riot and cheer hold sway. I used to think the biggest self-satire is “queers for Palestine,” but perhaps it’s actually a FIFA “Pride Match” between Egyptian and Iranian Islamists. And to be honest, I find it absolutely hilarious that the anti-Israel lefties are getting a harsh dose of reality about Islamic beliefs.

Western wokies like to pretend that Jews and Christians are their worst enemies because the Bible explicitly condemns homosexuality or sodomy (e.g., Romans 1:25ff, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Leviticus 18:22). But it's not Christian nations, nor the only Jewish nation, that beat or kill practicing homosexuals.
Incidentally, FIFA banned the Persian Lion and Sun flag, symbol of the nationalist movement against the Iranian regime (see the image on this article), and targeted at least one man with an Israeli flag. There's another layer of irony — the Persian and Israeli flags are supposedly too offensive to allow around Islamic nations' teams, but Pride flags aren't. FIFA is embarassingly woke and I hope this Pride Match is a disaster for them. Iran's team shouldn't have been allowed to play at the World Cup anyway.

Egypt and Iran will face off in a World Cup group stage match in Seattle on Friday, coinciding with the city's annual Pride weekend.
Both nations filed formal complaints requesting the cancelation of Pride-themed celebrations surrounding the game, citing cultural and religious objections.
Local organizers and FIFA rejected the requests, ensuring that rainbow flags and LGBTQ+ celebrations will proceed as planned inside and outside the stadium.
So why are the Egyptian and Iranian teams furious at the prospect of a "Pride Match"? Under the current Islamic terrorist regime in Iran, which the national soccer team represents, homosexuals are subject to harsh penalties including execution. In fact, Fair Planet labels Iran as one of only a handful of countries that explicitly allows for killing those convicted of homosexual acts. Fair Planet cited a 2022 example of two homosexual men hanged in an Iranian prison and stated that both male and female homosexuals are subject to floggings and fines.
Egypt's government outlaws homosexuality too, though it does not appear that it officially enforces the death penalty, so its version of sharia is somewhat less fundamentalist than Iran's. But Egypt is a far cry from Seattle, where homosexuals receive the hero treatment.

Human Dignity Trust states that Egypt’s government uses Penal Code 1937 and Law 10/1961 to target homosexuals.
Police use a number of methods to arrest gay men, including using dating apps and social media to entrap them. Although arrests frequently result in conviction, reports suggest a high proportion are acquitted on appeal.
There have been consistent reports of discrimination and violence being committed against LGBT people in Egypt, including abuse, harassment, forced anal examinations, and the forced payment of bribes.
This is all the background behind the furor in Seattle. The woke FIFA and Seattle authorities who pride themselves (pun intended) on pandering to Muslims finally found out that fundamentalist Muslims radically disagree with them on sexuality. The LGBTQ activists can only hope the Egyptians and Iranians don't take out their aggressions by assaulting rainbow-wearing morons at the game.
