Those who can’t do, lie. That seems to be the motto of the Democrat Party.
Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.) is boasting about how much new investment she has brought to the state. The problem is, her predecessor, Republican Glenn Youngkin, actually secured all of the new investments she is citing in her brag. Because the reality is that Democrats never have actual successes, they either invent wins that don’t exist or claim the wins of others for themselves.
Spanberger proudly wrote in an April 6 X post, “TODAY: I signed bipartisan bills to bring 3,250 jobs and $7.1 billion in investment to Virginia. Attracting new companies and jobs to communities across our Commonwealth is a core focus of my administration.” She boasted, “There is no better place in the nation to grow or start a business.” But WJLA reporter Nick Minock quickly clarified the true situation:

Democrat ideology is inherently destructive economically, politically, and societally. Indeed, Democrat politicians have been sabotaging America for two centuries. So how is it they still continue to stay in power? Partly through election fraud, partly through playing on irrational emotions and bitterness, and partly by lying about their success. Since they never make any town, city, state, or country better by controlling or meddling with it, Democrats have to lie about any improvements that do occur in those places in spite of them.
Spanberger is not the only leftist official to lie like this. For instance, the House Oversight Committee found in December that D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Chief Pamela A. Smith deliberately manipulated crime data to obfuscate the crime crisis in our nation’s capital.
The Biden administration perpetually lied about the impact of its policies, but as just one example, the administration overestimated monthly employment numbers by an average of roughly 626,000. And almost all of the net job gains were going to immigrants, particularly illegal immigrants. Similarly, while wholesalers reported decent inventory and sales increases under the Biden administration, it turned out this was merely because Bidenomics caused inflation to skyrocket so much. Those supposed increases were almost entirely due to out-of-control inflation.
The point is that, as stated above, Democrats never leave any area or institution they control better off than when they took over. Spanberger just came into office this year, and already her multiple overreaching government mandates are set to drive prices straight up in Virginia. Her “green energy” plans are likely to cause an energy crisis for Virginians. Illegal alien crime is out of control in Virginia as Spanberger doubles down on sanctuary policies. And her gerrymandering plan is an egregious violation of voters’ will.
The only way that Spanberger can possibly claim victories for Virginia under her rule is if she attributes the success of others to herself.
