Democrats Who Defended Obama, Biden Whine About Gas Prices

The same Democrats who supported previous presidents from their own party driving up gas prices to unaffordable levels are now melting down like the Wicked Witch in Oz over the Iran operation’s impact on gas prices.

Last night I was in a hotel where someone was playing CNN on the television, and I couldn’t help but notice that the very same propagandists who were twisting themselves into knots to defend the Biden administration‘s energy policies are now freaking out that the Iran operation will temporarily drive up the price of gas. Not only that, but the same media stooges who have spent decades assuring us that climate catastrophe was just around the corner and we should all get rid of our private cars are practically in tears over the prospect of higher gas prices. Because it was never really about the price of gas; it was always about leftist ideology and elite control.

First let’s start with everyone’s least favorite governor, Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) “Taking a victory lap on ‘LOWEST EVER’ gas prices, then calling Americans ‘FOOLS’ for worrying about his war with Iran raising prices? Donald Trump is a con man with no plan and failing the American people,” sneered Newsom on X. At the same time as Newsom is making fun of Trump for raising gas prices, Newsom‘s government is about to cost the state of California over half a million jobs in the petroleum industry via outrageous new climate regulation.

Newsom previously attempted to phase out gas-powered cars and force trucking companies to replace gas-powered vehicles with misnamed zero-emission vehicles. Donald Trump did not fail the American people, but Newsom failed the people of California.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), on behalf on the Senate Democrats, demanded on March 8 that Trump “immediately release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to lower gas prices for American families, as Trump’s ongoing military conflict with Iran sends energy costs surging across the country.” The average price per gallon is now $3.41, Schumer darkly warned.

But back in 2021, Schumer stubbornly remained silent as Biden administration policies quickly drove up gas prices by more than 42% in one year. Under the Obama administration, Schumer did at one point recommend that Obama release oil reserves after gas hit $3.72 a gallon on average, but Schumer ultimately decided the administration should just insist other countries step up their oil production instead of Barack Obama altering his policies. Even more ironically, the Democrats were relying on Iranian oil to make up for their own domestic attacks on the oil industry.

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) ranted about Operation Epic Fury, “Americans are demanding help with the cost-of-living crisis, but President Trump would rather start another war, potentially driving up energy prices, than listen to them.” But not so long ago, DeLauro “proudly” supported the Biden Inflation Reduction Act, which actually drove up inflation in many areas, including energy prices.

Democrats can spare us the virtue-signaling about gas price increases.
