The day before a leftist terrorist tried to murder an ICE officer, federal officers in sanctuary city Minneapolis arrested a dangerous and deadly criminal there. This highlights how leftists like the bloodthirsty woman who was killed while committing vehicular assault are quite literally trying to murder ICE for arresting the most despicable of criminals.
On Jan. 6, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the capture of an Ecuadorean sexual predator who is also wanted for murder. On Jan. 7, mobs of leftist rioters menaced ICE and one of them that got herself killed while trying to commit a deadly attack. Into today, leftists were still physically assaulting ICE officers in Minnesota, and DHS just arrested dozens partly in connection with an assault on a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer in New York. And they are committing all these crimes on behalf of the worst sort of scum from other countries.
It is against federal law to interfere with immigration officers, and especially so to assault them. 18 U.S. Code § 111 penalizes one who “forcibly assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates, or interferes with any person designated in section 1114 of this title while engaged in or on account of the performance of official duties,” including immigration enforcement.
DHS also clarified why an ICE officer shot terrorist Renee Good as she committed vehicular assault on him and his fellow officers. “The same @ICEgov officer attacked yesterday was dragged in June by a child sexual predator trying to evade an immigration enforcement arrest,” DHS posted. “He suffered severe injuries and required 33 stitches. ICE officers put their lives on the line every day to defend American communities.”

Assaults on ICE officers are up 1347%, with Democrat politicians fueling the violence by perpetrating hoaxes and fake news and defending violent rioters. In fact, there was reportedly another shooting involving ICE officers in Portland, according to Reuters. The problem is that attacks are likely only to increase, because Democrats and professional agitators have convinced their brainwashed followers that it is virtuous to injure and kill ICE agents for arresting foreign criminals.
Speaking of foreign criminals arrested by ICE, here’s just one arrested in Minneapolis, the murderer Tomas Espin Tapia, per DHS:
Tomas Espin Tapia, a criminal illegal alien from Ecuador, illegally entered the United States on October 23, 2022, and was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. His criminal history includes an active warrant in Ecuador for murder and an active warrant for sexual assault in Connecticut. He also has previous convictions in Ecuador for robbery and extortion. He was issued a final order of removal by an Immigration Judge on February 28, 2025 after he failed to show up for his immigration hearing…
DHS has surged law enforcement and has already made more than 1,000 arrests of murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and gang members in Minnesota. Just yesterday more than 150 illegal aliens were arrested in Minneapolis.
It was on behalf of Tapia and his ilk that Renee Good attacked ICE officers. It is on behalf of Tapia and his ilk that mobs have rallied in numerous Democrat cities. This is the Democrat party, in all its inglorious ignominy.
