“Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.” Abraham Lincoln spoke those words exactly 162 years ago today, but unfortunately, they apply almost as accurately to our own day. And we’re still fighting the same enemy.
The Democrats launched the Civil War in fury at the election of Republican Abraham Lincoln, who wanted gradually to abolish slavery (which, in fact, was always the plan of our greatest Founders). Our nation weathered that storm, thanks to great men like Lincoln, U.S. Grant, William Sherman, and Frederick Douglass, along with millions of patriots. But as we face a different kind of civil war in a new era, without leaders as morally great, and with enemies advanced that much further in evil, America’s fate is uncertain. We are writing the history now with our words and actions.
Certainly, the Democrats of the 1860s would be horrified to see black, Asian, and female politicians. They would hate LGBTQ ideology and despise illegal immigration. And yet what is the racism of the modern Democrat Party but a politically savvy transformation of the old racism of the same party? Were not many of the slaveowners of old sexual exploiters, and all dependent on cheap foreign labor just as are the Democrats of today? Democrats use many of the same arguments for illegal immigration that they used for slavery.
Not only that, but the Confederate bloodshed and war crimes of the Civil War and the widespread Democrat terrorism of the post-war years were precursors to the modern leftist domestic terrorism movements. From the Ft. Pillow massacre to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, from the KKK to Antifa, the history of the Democrat Party is one of domestic terrorism.
Just before the Battle of Gettysburg, which occasioned the need for the cemetery Lincoln dedicated with the above words, the Confederates had rampaged through Pennsylvania. Enforcing the Confederate Retaliatory Act, the soldiers rounded up and enslaved any black people they could find, decimating whole communities and threatening to attack any white civilians who interfered.
The Democrats use not only guns and clubs now, but many other weapons, including government programs, weaponized courts, corrupt politicians, and propaganda in schools and media. They are more determined than ever to destroy America. Are we just as determined to fight back?

Let us take inspiration from Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, delivered in honor of the fallen Union soldiers on Nov. 19, 1863:
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
