The U.S. Supreme Court just ruled in favor of Donald Trump’s rule that only the two biological sexes can be on passports. On the one hand, this is good news. On the other hand, how did the greatest nation in the world get to the point of needing our highest court to affirm one of the most incontrovertible facts of nature?
When even the most basic facts of reality are up for debate, how can a society survive? “‘A house divided against itself cannot stand,’” Abraham Lincoln said, quoting Christ in 1858. “I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free.” He was correct — eventually one side had to be defeated. Unfortunately, almost two centuries later, the same political party that supported slavery now supports evils just as potentially deadly to the Union’s survival.
The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that the State Department can, in fact, ban the addition of multiple fictional genders to official passports, siding with the Trump administration on the policy recognizing only two biological sexes. “Displaying passport holders’ sex at birth no more offends equal protection principles than displaying their country of birth—in both cases, the Government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment,” SCOTUS declared.
This is perfectly true, and 100 years ago, probably even 30 years ago, the overwhelming majority of Americans would have laughed and said “of course” when confronted with that statement. More than a century ago, the need to state such a fact would not even have occurred to anyone. Thus, while this victory is important, it highlights an issue — namely, that we require the very highest legal authority in America now to rule against pure and blatant insanity. That is how badly the leftist lunacy has corrupted our most important institutions.

Then again, PJ Media readers don’t need to be told all that. The question is — how to reverse it? The Trump administration has taken actions such as the one the Supreme Court just affirmed, but ultimately there’s never a major societal change accomplished by the federal government alone.
The obvious answers are voting and attending school board meetings. Parents shouldn’t send their kids to woke schools and universities if they have any other option. We can boycott companies and stores that are openly pro-transgender — that tactic has been very effective.
Other solutions might not immediately come to the minds of modern Americans. For instance, we are an increasingly irreligious society, and it is no wonder that we deny nature when we also deny nature‘s God. Our Founders insisted that rights come from God, and without Judeo-Christian values, our society is very susceptible to atheistic Marxist propaganda.
Another potential solution is to stop using inclusive language and return to proper English grammar. And I don’t just mean rejecting preferred pronouns. For instance, the correct English is “everybody received his diploma” and “no one lost his job.” Say “mankind” instead of “humankind,” “authoress” and “actress” for women, and “spokesman” or “spokeswoman” if the person is identified. It might seem trivial, but the reality is that how we talk is how we think. Part of the reason even many Christians and Jews are all okay with homosexuality now is because we use the word “gay,” which really means “happy,” instead of “homosexual” or “sodomite.” The words we use change how we think and if we are willing to compromise on the truth, whether we realize it or not.
