In the U.S. and UK, leftists are trying to criminalize parenting. From transgender ideology to technology use, leftists are targeting and even arresting parents simply for exercising the most basic surveillance and discipline over their own children.
If the state can not only violate your wishes for your child but actively punish you for disagreeing with government officials and their chosen lackeys, you are living in an Orwellian nightmare. For some parents, that nightmare has already become a reality.
LBC reported on how one UK mom was arrested, her elderly mother harassed, and her daughter pulled out of school by police because — wait for it — she took away her kids’ iPads so they’d do more schoolwork.
History teacher Vanessa Brown, 50, spent seven-and-a-half hours in a custody cell on March 26 this year, following a claim she had stolen two iPads which were traced to her mother’s house in Cobham, Surrey.
Yet it transpired that the two devices belonged to her daughters, and Ms Brown had merely confiscated them to encourage them to focus on their schoolwork, a fact Surrey Police has now acknowledged.
Unsurprisingly, the experience deeply disturbed Brown.
“I find it quite traumatic even talking about this now,” she said. “At no point did [the officers] think to themselves, ‘Oh, this is a little bit of an overreaction for a moment, confiscating temporarily her iPads and popping over to her mum's to have a coffee.’ It was just a complete overreaction.”
That’s the understatement of the century.
Unfortunately, we have our own radical leftists in the United States trying to make parenting illegal too, particularly when it comes to transgender ideology. In fact, during debate over new Colorado legislation to criminalize “misgendering,” Democrat state Rep. Yara Zokaie actually compared parental rights groups concerned about the legislation to the murderous, terrorist Ku Klux Klan.
“A well-stakeholded bill does not need to be discussed with hate groups,” sneered this nitwit. “We don't ask someone passing civil rights legislation to go ask the KKK their opinion.”

I previously wrote about the dangers of the Colorado legislation and similar horrible legislation in Massachusetts:
Massachusetts Democrats in state Senate bill 1244 and state House bill 1815, according to screenshots and analysis provided by Libs of TikTok, “would allow people to consent to abortions, REGARDLESS of age. It also requires any medical procedures to be kept strictly confidential to the patient.” … [Then there’s] the legislation advancing through the state legislature in the Rocky Mountain State that turns “deadnaming” and “misgendering” into a crime and exempts cross-sex hormones from prescription drug tracking requirements.
There are numerous examples of such Democrat tyranny, encapsulated in Joe Biden‘s outrageous assertion that “our nation’s children are all our children” — by which he means that the government, not parents, should control and “educate” children.
Multiple parents in multiple states, indeed, have already lost custody of their children who were “gender transitioned” without their permission by educational or medical “experts.” These include the Coxes in Indiana, a Washington, D.C., family, and Jeff Younger from Texas.
Unless we can check the onslaught of tyranny, basic parenting will soon become a jailable crime in the West.
