If there’s one word to describe the inspiring speeches and themes Wednesday at the Republican National Convention, that word is FAMILY.
Both in tragedy and celebration, whether discussing victims of terrorism and Democrat incompetence or praising parents, grandparents, and children, the RNC made it clear that it is the party of life and love. Democrats have made abortion, the killing of unborn babies, the main issue of their 2024 platform. They have loudly and proudly defined themselves as the party of death.
Nothing could have been a greater contrast to that than the honor shown to parenthood and familial relationships at the RNC. From Don Jr. and JD Vance to Gold Star parents, the RNC stood for family. That is why I believe Republicans will triumph in this election. Ours is an inspiring message, an optimistic message, and therefore a winning message.

Family was lauded both on a personal and a political level. Multiple speakers mentioned the violation of parental rights for transgender ideology so prevalent among Democrat LGBTQ crazies now. But the RNC also took care to focus on individuals in the true American style.
Peter Navarro, fresh out of the gulag, was joined on stage by his fiancée as he emphasized that weaponized lawfare is an attack not only on the individuals locked in jail but on their families. Meanwhile, 98-year-old decorated WWII and D-Day veteran Sgt. William Pekrul was given a loud standing ovation. “I'm a proud husband of 76 years old [sic] and my wife Rosemary. I'm a father of 11 children. Six girls, five boys. Our family [spans] across five generations,” he said.
The family members of the 13 brave military members killed in Kabul amidst Biden’s utterly catastrophic Afghanistan withdrawal were featured too with their heartbreaking stories, moving the audience to tears.
“[Biden] let my son down. He let the 13 down. He let the 45 wounded down. He let those 174 [Afghan] civilians down. He let our country down,” Kelly Barnett, mother of Marine Sgt. Darin Taylor Hoover, stated.

The Gold Star families spoke at the RNC last night. Joe Biden has not recognized these families. He will not even speak the names of the 13 fallen.

Christy Shamblin, mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, said of Donald Trump’s six-hour visit with the grieving families, “Donald Trump carried the weight for a few hours with me. For the first time since Nicole's death, I felt like I wasn't alone in my grief.” Donald Trump was in the audience, his ear still bandaged from the bullet he took during the recent assassination attempt, to listen again to the Gold Star families. The RNC crowd repeated the names of the 13 fallen military members aloud.

Also, Ronen and Orna Neutra, the parents of Israeli-American Hamas hostage Omer Neutra, spoke to the RNC about their son, the seven other Americans held hostage in Gaza, and the 45 Americans killed during the heinous Oct. 7 Hamas attacks. The parents led the crowd in chanting “Bring them home!” and explained that Trump had called them personally.

But there was laughter as well as tears at the RNC. Vance, Trump’s new running mate, repeatedly praised his redoubtable Mamaw during his keynote speech. He noted his grandma loved both God — and the f-word.
“She once told me, when she found out that I was spending too much time with a local kid who was known for dealing drugs, that if I ever hung out with that kid again, she would run him over with her car,” Vance said to audience laughter. “She said, ‘JD, no one will ever find out.’”
His gun-owning, no-nonsense Mamaw inspired him to join the Marines and start down the road of success. Vance also paid moving tribute to his wife, his kids, and his mother, “ten years clean and sober” in the audience.

Kai Trump, President Trump’s granddaughter, made her public speaking debut in a beautiful tribute to her grandfather.
“Grandpa, you are such an inspiration, and I love you,” she declared. “The media makes my grandpa seem like a different person, but I know him for who he is. He's very caring and loving. He truly wants the best for this country.”
She hugged her father Donald Trump Jr. before leaving the stage, and her dad’s pride and affection practically radiated off him.

Don Jr., in his speech, honored both his own father and the father killed Saturday at the rally during the assassination attempt. “I would like to take a moment tonight to express our gratitude for the life and service of American hero Corey Comperatore,” Don Jr. said. The crowd responded by chanting Corey’s name.

One of Don Jr.’s tributes to his father particularly spurred cheers, as he said of President Trump’s reaction to being shot, “That’s when the world found out that there is tough, and then there’s Trump Tough. And the good news is, America is Trump Tough.”

Families are the building blocks of society, and the Republican Party understands that. Let’s make America great again!
