The radical leftists poisoning our society encourage, glorify, and practically mandate mental illness while vilifying and punishing any sane person who points out that the crazy emperor has no clothes.
Libs of TikTok tweeted on Jan. 2 that she had received an image of a sign at a Boston music venue from one of her followers. The sign read:
Received this from a follower. This is at a music venue in Boston. If you see a man in the bathroom with your daughter and it makes you uncomfortable, then you’re the problem. pic.twitter.com/NQe7IQRtus

So if a creepy dude in a dress is leering at you or your little daughter in the women’s restroom and you dislike it, then you’re the problem. Ignore the multiple examples of “transgender” or “gender fluid” males sexually assaulting, injuring, and even raping women and girls in bathrooms; all sane people must cater to those with mental illness. In short, the inmates are running the asylum.
I have discussed before how leftists always favor the victimizer over the victim. We see it with the crime crisis, the border crisis, and many other facets of politics and society. As it happens, this favoring of the victimizer over the victim has been a feature of Democrat ideology for well over a hundred years now. But I argue that leftists also in our day specifically prioritize and reward the mentally ill while demonizing the sane.
We especially see this with the transgender/LGBTQ propaganda. Those who chop off their body parts, engage in sexual perversion, and dance naked in front of children are supposed to be considered normal and admirable, while those of us who do not care for pedophilia and perversion are called hateful, stupid, and anti-science. Perhaps that’s because crazy people are easier to oppress and control than rational people.
The insane might need straitjackets, but they can be locked in an asylum without fully realizing where they are or what freedoms and rights they have lost, whereas the sane man knows and understands that when he is locked in a padded cell he has lost everything material that makes life worth living. Even worse, being locked in a padded cell might make a sane man go insane, so a would-be tyrant might try to enforce insanity to make everyone easier to control.
There is a fascinating part of G.K. Chesterton’s novel “The Ball and the Cross” that addresses this reality. MacIan the traditionalist Catholic and Turnbull the liberal atheist have been trying to fight a duel to settle their differences but find to their chagrin that all of England is out to stop them!
In the novel, the scientific/medical experts basically institute a dictatorship in England wherein people must be certified sane to participate in any social and political activities (Chesterton apparently foresaw COVID-19 lockdowns almost a century early). Dissidents are labeled as insane and locked up with a new mental malady invented to justify each imprisonment.
Turnbull, locked in a tiny cell, finds that his highly active and logical brain is becoming touched with the disease; that is, he is starting to go insane. That would, of course, have played straight into the hands of those who locked him up to begin with.
Yet the key is to refuse to bend and break within the mold presented to you. We must realize that those who are called mad are in touch with reality, while those who pretend to be sane are actually madder than a hatter. After hearing a disturbing scientific lecture from the scientist named Lucifer, a lecture that might well have come straight from Dr. Fauci, Turnbull says, “I want to be taken to a mad house... because I want a little sane and wholesome society.”
Indeed, at one point in the book, a doctor informs Turnbull and MacIan that the master of the asylum, the “man of science” Lucifer, is not afraid of the Prime Minister, but he is afraid of Turnbull and MacIan. They were men who knew the truth and were willing to fight for it — in short, their minds could not be controlled.
In the end, Turnbull and MacIan lead a revolt against their progressive and evil overlords, and Lucifer loses his power over them. Chesterton was trying to tell us something. All the insane ideologies of modernity, including leftism, appear to have immense power, but in the long run, we must refuse to accept the conditions that are offered to us. If we do not accept the padded cell, if we do not accept the false definition of sanity or the authority of the tyrants, we too will overthrow the real Lucifer and his minions.
The question is how much we are willing to risk. Turnbull and his allies finally realize that there is no point in keeping their lives safe if their lives are so controlled and manipulated as to be meaningless. They find that life without liberty and truth is not worth living. “‘We hate dying,’ said Turnbull, with composure, ‘but we hate you even more. This is a successful revolution.’”
We hate losing our jobs, our scholarships, and our friends. But we hate the lies and the liars even more, so we and our creed will conquer in the end. It might not be a physical fight on a literal battlefield, but it is a culture war of vital importance, a war between the sane and the mad. We are sane, so we will have a successful revolution.
