Jordan Peterson Nailed It: Marxism Trained Wokies to See Gaza as ‘Oppressed’

“People have bought this idiot meta-Marxism which is that the way to look at every social relationship that people ever have is through the lens of power,” said Jordan Peterson, bashing the disturbing Hamas-sympathizing protests in America.

Peterson recently silenced leftist Bill Maher and described the underlying issue of pro-terrorist “Palestinian” protests that erupted in the U.S. after the latest Hamas-Israel war began. Peterson explained that Marxism has infiltrated our universities and so brainwashed many Americans into seeing every situation as a power struggle between oppressed and oppressor that they immediately joined in the Hamas propaganda about “colonialist” Israel.

The reality, of course, is that Israel is a small Jewish state surrounded by bigger Muslim nations, and that the Arabs have always refused peace with Israel in favor of waging jihad. Sadly, the heinous Oct. 7 terrorist attacks, as egregious as they were, are only part of an endless terrorist war. Unfortunately, both in universities and in our other schools — from elementary school on up — millions of young Americans have been taught for years to view every situation in the world as a type of Marxist power struggle between an innocent oppressed group and an eeeevil oppressor.

Below are Peterson’s remarks:

Part of the reason that you see all this foolishness on university campuses, too, is because people have bought this idiot meta-Marxism which is that the way to look at every social relationship that people ever have is through the lens of power.

And that is—we could put that squarely at the feet of the universities…you know, ‘marriage is a patriarchal institution, and business is nothin but oppression, and you have to view every single situation that emerged historically as oppressor versus oppressed’. And then once you get that [ideology], which you can get in about two minutes if you sit in a course that teaches that sort of thing, you have a lens to moralize about the whole world through. And then, you see, the situation is that the leftists have already decided the Palestinians are the victims, and, as you pointed out” [turning to the woman beside him] “if you’re a victim then you’re morally righteous, and even more conveniently, if you stand for the victim, then you’re morally righteous regardless of what you do with your own life. And that’s pretty much what university students are taught from the time they enter the university classroom, and that’s how they, you know, orient themselves morally. And that’s at the hands of the radical left, too, Bill.

And one of the things that the Democrats also have to pay the price for, I would say, is their absolute refusal to draw a line between the modern Democrats and the extremists…Look, I’ve talked to 40 senators and congressmen in the last five years, I asked them all the same question—including RFK, he wouldn’t answer either—‘when does the left go too far?’ Well, we certainly bloody well saw it in the last month, didn’t we? Because they got the oppressor-oppressed narrative a little mucked up…the consequences of that are going to unfold pretty brutally over the next few months.”

He’s right. When facing the issue of terrorist sympathizers in America, we cannot only look at anti-Semitism, which is becoming very dangerous. We must look at the underlying cause, because if we do not attack that, the problem will simply keep cropping up again and again.

There are other factors feeding into the pro-Palestinian craze, including the fact that many protestors are Muslims. The more Muslim immigrants we bring in, the greater the risk of anti-Semitic hate crimes, unfortunately. But the major underlying cause for the average woke American is the neo-Marxist nonsense being constantly spewed by educators, especially university educators. Students at the University of Pennsylvania recently called for “intifada,” or a war to kill Jews and wipe out Israel, while rallying to support Palestinian terrorists. Massachusetts college students also reportedlycheered for “intifada.” Protestors in D.C. lauded the Hamas terrorists as “martyrs.” These things didn’t happen in a vacuum.

A former college Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) director, Tabia Lee, declared last month that “toxic DEI ideology” on college campuses “deliberately stokes hatred toward Israel and the Jewish people.” She explained, just as Peterson did, “At its worst, DEI is built on the unshakable belief that the world is divided into two groups of people: the oppressors and the oppressed.”

So how does that apply here? “Jews are categorically placed in the oppressor category, while Israel is branded a ‘genocidal, settler, colonialist state,’” Lee wrote. “In this worldview, criticizing Israel and the Jewish people is not only acceptable but praiseworthy….If you don’t go after them — or worse, if you defend them — you’re actively abetting racist oppression.”

Thus, universities — and now many if not most public schools and some private schools, too — have become breeding grounds for anti-Semitism among young people who know little more than how to attach labels to people and react with frenzy to those labels. We need massive educational reform in America to address many, many years of Marxist propaganda in our universities.
