This story is from Alex Isenstadt at Politico, where you come for the partisan Koch bashing:
House Democrats are finally hitting back at the Koch brothers.
House Majority PAC, a Democratic group that invests in congressional races, will begin running TV ads Thursday defending two Arizona Democrats, Reps. Ann Kirkpatrick and Ron Barber — both of whom have come under attack from Americans for Prosperity, a conservative group financed by billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch.
And stay to observe how the MSM minimizes the Democrats’ Obamacare problem.
AFP was against Obamacare from the beginning. Obamacare’s disastrous rollout and its millions of insurance cancellations and rate hikes and doc shock ought to have vindicated the Koch brothers and AFP, but Politico doesn’t go there. That’s not in the Democrat playbook.
What is in the Democrat playbook, is bashing the law that the Democrats support. This is what “running on Obamacare,” as DNC chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz promised Dems would do, is turning out to look like.
The Kirkpatrick ad praises the congresswoman while taking direct aim at the health care rollout: “…Ann Kirkpatrick listens and learns. It’s why she blew the whistle on the disastrous health care website, calling it ‘stunning ineptitude’ and worked to fix it.”
The Barber commercial, meanwhile, blasts the Kochs — calling them “out-of-state billionaires pushing a reckless agenda.”
The Democrats are also calling the Koch brothers “anti-family,” a line that if any Republican used would get them crucified by the likes of Politico, but as it’s coming from Democrats, Politico just lets it slide. If you want fair reporting, don’t seek out Alex Isenstadt or Politico.
