Now She Tells Us! Sebelius Admits that Some Will Pay More Under Obamacare

Call this a limited admission. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius made a PR stop in Tampa, FL, Monday. She admitted as Bay News9’s camera rolled that yes, Obamacare will force some Americans to pay more for their healthcare.

“There are some individuals who may be looking at increases. I think you cannot make a statement based on cost unless you compare what they had to what they’re going into.”

Fair enough, though President Obama never included such a caveat any of the more than 30 times he claimed that Obamacare would change nothing for those who already had healthcare that they liked. In fact, on numerous occasions, Obama claimed that his law would save both the government and individual Americans money. He did not follow that up with any admission that his law would mandate changes to existing policies that would end up hiking prices.

Price was one of the three talking points Obama used to sell Obamacare: that it would decrease costs, that it would leave existing healthcare plans alone, and that Americans who liked their doctors would still be able to see their doctors. None of those three are turning out to be be true for millions of Americans just in the law’s first few months of full implementation.
