“Don’t ever speak in absolutes,” says Obama adviser David Axelrod, offering up an absolute to denounce absolutes.
He appeared on MSNBC Wednesday along with Chris Matthews, and discussed the widespread problems with Obamacare’s rollout and implementation.
“I think part of it is being honest about it, and he has been honest about it,” Axelrod said, though without specifying how Obama has been honest regarding lying for several years about Obamacare’s impact on the customer-healthcare plan relationship, and the patient-doctor relationship. “Part of it is getting it fixed as best as you can. There is no doubt that that is the core of the problem when you come to this measure, and I think he was ill served because I’m sure when he said what he said he believed it when they put the grandfather clause in, he believed that that would take care of these kinds of transitional problems. It didn’t. And I think the real lesson here is don’t ever speak in absolutes, because there’s always gonna be an exception, and that exception is gonna be an example that your opponents lift up.”
Shame on them for pointing out that your policy doesn’t work as you promised it would…
Had Obama not offered his absolute promise — “If you like your healthcare, you can keep it,” me might not have been elected, his law might not have passed, and he might not have been re-elected, making the same promise.
