“I personally believe, even if it takes a change to the law, the president should honor the commitment the federal government made to those people (who are losing their healthcare or seeing their premiums skyrocket) and let ’em keep what they got,” the former president said.
Is the Democrats’ Obamacare wall breaking? Up to the disastrous October rollout, Democrats had been solidly behind the controversial law that never enjoyed majority support. But Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) has already announced legislation aimed at keeping the president’s promise. Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC) wants Obamacare investigated. Democrat Rep. Kurt Schrader (OR) says that Obama was “grossly misleading” when he promised Americans that they could keep healthcare that they liked. And now former President Clinton even suggests that the law might have to be changed.
All of this shows that the Democrats are in disarray over their signature policy. Many of them are just running for cover, ahead of the pivotal 2014 midterm elections.
