White House Deputy Senior Adviser David Simas evidently is not impacted by the partial government shutdown that has the National Park Service barrycading farms and parks all over the country. He appeared on MSNBC today to laud the Obamacare rollout which began Tuesday and which has been the mother of all glitchfests.
Host Eugene Robinson asked Simas “David, when are you going to have some numbers about how many people have actually enrolled for insurance besides [MSNBC host Mike] Barnicle?”
Simas replied: “So, you know, Mike Barnicle is a good validation point any day. I’d like to rest on that, but here’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to spend the next few weeks accumulating data, probably do monthly reports like we do with other programs, you know, with medicaid, medicare, and others and then use that time also. I think this is an important piece, especially for me. To learn what’s working in some places and what isn’t in other places.
