Apparently MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann hangover is finally over. It’s reportedly hiring another nutjob, high-interest credit card pitchman Alec Baldwin, to host a primetime show according to Mediaite.
Mediaite has learned from a senior source in the cable news industry with knowledge of MSNBC’s programming that actor Alec Baldwin is getting his own weekly show in MSNBC’s primetime lineup. According to our source, the so far untitled show will air Fridays at 10 p.m. ET and will feature a large dose of Baldwin’s outspoken liberal politics.
Ya think? Eh, it could also include Baldwin’s parenting advice — use horrible insults as often as possible! — and his take on “queens.” Also, race relations.
For what it’s worth, MSNBC is in “we can neither confirm nor deny” mode. Can this be the network’s response to the rumor that Fox is putting megawatt Megyn Kelly in the 9 pm slot?
Speaking as a media watcher who’s bored to tears by the latest tinglefest from Chris Matthews and who cannot get through an entire Maddow show without falling asleep, please MSNBC, please, give Baldwin a primetime slot.
