Breaking: Sen. Ayotte Will Oppose Hagel Nomination

Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) subjected former Sen. Chuck Hagel to withering questioning during Hagel’s nomination hearing to become the next Defense Secretary before the Senate Armed Services Committee on January 31. Today, news is breaking that Ayotte will oppose Hagel.

Earlier today, Sen. John McCain announced that Hagel’s nomination should go forward to the full Senate without a walkout, as Sen. Lindsay Graham is threatening if the Obama administration does not provide more information about the deadly 9-11-12 terrorist attack on Benghazi, in which four Americans were killed. McCain suggested that he may also vote against Hagel.
