En route to Massachusetts yesterday, White House spokesman Josh Earnest was asked by reporters aboard Air Force One what President Obama was going to be for Halloween.
“I don’t at this point know exactly what the plans are for Halloween festivities tomorrow. But I think before the end of the day we’ll have more on that, even if it’s not information about the costumes,” Earnest said.
As you can see, it was well worth the wait for his spooky khaki and black ensemble with oh-so-creepy hint of orange shirt.
Obama welcomed military families at the South Portico of the White House early this evening, which is decorated with pumpkins and cobwebs.
“Turns out that at least one Obama Administration web operation has its act together: A large, inflatable black-widow spider hovered above the door, and a dozen more of the eight-legged creepy-crawlies swarmed over the balcony’s columns, escorted by bats and crows,” quipped the White House pool report.
Instead of dressing up dogs Bo and Sunny, the Obamas dressed up statues of their dogs.
The treats provided were a box of White House M&Ms, jelly beans, a White House Sweet Dough Butter Cookie made by White House Executive Pastry Chef Bill Yosses, and a serving of dried fruit.
