‘Replacement Migration’: Blurring the Lines Between Conspiracy Theory and Conspiracy Reality

We have all been gaslit over the past several years with the narrative that “replacement migration” is a xenophobic conspiracy theory cooked up by backwoods Deplorable yokels to inculcate unwarranted anger at America’s precious and diverse Third World migrants, who actually enrich us and teach us how to season our food properly.

We have so much to learn in our state of cultural poverty, and Joe Biden’s crack team of Homeland Security specialists went to such great lengths over the prior four years to enlighten us.

Alas, the Deplorables, spurred on by hatemongers like Tucker Carlson, persisted in their graceless rejection of Diversity™.

Via Southern Poverty Law Center (emphasis added):

The number of anti-immigrant groups grew by 1 to 18 groups in 2023*. This number, however, was reached by various groups dropping or re-emerging based on activity. 2023 saw activity from dormant groups including Floridians for Immigration Enforcement and Help Save Maryland. American Border Patrol was removed due to inactivity following the death of its founder and leader, Glenn Spencer. Border Network News, once listed as antigovernment extremist, was re-categorized to anti-immigrant hate after a review of the group’s activities and rhetoric.

The anti-immigrant movement spent much of the year directing its ire toward the Biden administration, particularly Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Anti-immigrant groups and hard-liners in Congress joined together in calling for Mayorkas to be impeached, alleging the southern border to be – by his and President Biden’s design – chaotic and unsecured. Anti-immigrant groups based their rhetorical attacks largely on the “great replacement” conspiracy theory, popular among both anti-immigrant and white supremacist groups, which falsely claims immigrants are a threat to white American culture**. The hate group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) wrote on its website that it “will work closely with the Homeland Security Committee to uncover the facts and help document the evidence in support of impeachment.”

*18 “anti-immigrant” groups out of a population of 350 million (or thereabouts; we can’t know for sure on account of the illegal immigration) — a real national crisis.

**This is not an accurate representation of the “great replacement” theory. It does not merely claim that “immigrants are a threat to white American culture;” it charges that elements of the government are facilitating mass legal and illegal migration, in subversion of any democratic consent from the governed, for political and cultural ends, which no one can seriously dispute occurred during Biden’s record-breaking tenure.

Methinks the SPLC doth protest too much.

Anyway, the whole “conspiracy theory” label sort of loses its punch when you read the literal UN report titled “Replacement Migration: Is it A Solution to Declining and Ageing Populations?”

I knew this document existed somewhere in the ether, but I had never actually read it until now.

Via United Nations Secretariat, published March 16, 2000:

The present study addresses the question of whether replacement migration is a solution to declining and ageing populations. Replacement migration refers to the international migration that would be needed to offset declines in the size of the population… for a range of countries that have in common a fertility pattern below the replacement level. Eight countries are examined: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, United Kingdom and United States

The levels of migration needed to offset population ageing (i.e., maintain potential support ratios) are extremely large, and in all cases entail vastly more immigration than occurred in the past.

The report goes on to estimate the numbers of needed migrants in the tens of millions for each respective country (all of which are white except for Korea and Japan). In the case of America, “the total number of migrants for the United States for the fifty-year period is 38 million.”

By some estimates, we were nearing the UN’s “extremely large” goal — at least until the Golden Age began.
