My favorite J6er, personal friend Karen Jones, recently got featured in a Daily Mail profile of the cohort of protesters caught up in the wheels of a politicized justice system hellbent on punishing the political speech of Democrats’ opponents.
(Jones, a reliable contact, has slipped me exclusive info I’ve broken for PJ Media in the past regarding the prosecution/persecution of her and her husband that has been ongoing for several years now. She’s currently on house arrest with an ankle monitor.)

The only person who died that day was not a cop but a protester — shot by a cop with a questionable career history that included him leaving his gun unattended — named Ashli Babbitt.
The officer’s breach of protocol, Lt. Mike Byrd, was so serious that it warranted a write-up in The Hill at the time, even though he was an unknown figure.
Via The Hill, February 2019 (emphasis added):
Capitol Police say that the commander of officers on the House side of the Capitol left his service weapon unattended in a bathroom where it was discovered by another officer.
A spokeswoman for the department told Roll Call that Lt. Mike Byrd will be investigated after his Glock-22, which has no manual safety to prevent unintended firing, was found “during a routine security sweep” by another officer in a bathroom on Monday.
Monday’s incident appears to be the first unattended service weapon involving Capitol Police reported since 2015, when the department faced a rash of similar incidents including on where an officer’s loaded weapon was found on a toilet seat cover holder.
Byrd has since been promoted to captain because meritocracy.
Even the worst offenders among the rioters — the ones who actually committed violence — have arguably paid their debt to society if they’re still sitting in the gulag come January 2025, four full years later.

As for the nonviolent ones, who make up the majority of the defendants, most should have never been prosecuted, much less incarcerated, in the first place — especially, if we still profess to believe in equal application of the law in this country, after the amnesty granted to BLM rioters and looters for an entire summer all across the nation to burn, steal, and kill.
Hopefully, Trump is going to make them whole — indeed, in my opinion, he owes it to them.
Via Daily Mail (emphasis added):
When Trump is sworn in as the 47th U.S. President, he will have the authority to wipe away [Jan 6] cases. If he were to issue broad pardons, it would repudiate the largest criminal investigation ever conducted by the Justice Department.
While Trump has not clarified the scope or implementation of these potential pardons, lawyers are already moving forward by filing the necessary paperwork…
One such rioter was Karen Jones, who first spoke about her and her husband's participation during the comedy podcast Kill Tony - a show hosted by controversial comedian Tony Hinchcliffe - in June 2023.
Jones claimed that she and her husband, Robert Walter Jones, 72, had RSVP'd for a 'permitted event' called 'Stop the Steal,' which she believed would be just a regular Trump rally.
'Violence has never been a part of anything I've been involved in, and I don't even own a gun,' Jones said.
But investigators said the couple crossed restricted boundaries, entered the Capitol, and remained inside for about 30 minutes, even after being directed to leave*.
*Consider the un-American, illiberal horror show of meandering around what is allegedly a monument to the People’s rule for a full half-hour! There was also — and I apologize for any children who have to read this — a Pledge of Allegiance led by Karen Jones and recited by many bigoted insurrectionists!
