Joe and Mika Scarborough are the quintessential corporate state media mouthpieces. All conventional wisdom to be absorbed obediently by the liberal media class is disseminated through these two, laundered for legitimacy purposes through the bipartisan veneer of “liberal” Mika and “conservative” Joe.
Apparently the new talking point, related to the Russiagate hoax, is that Republicans are now communist.

Here’s what he had to say on a recent Morning Joe production, as if the year is 1956 in the throes of the Red Scare:
Republicans who for the past 50 years have been the main force to push back hard on communism. They’ve, they’ve surrendered to the communists. They’ve surrendered. Mike Johnson surrendered to the communists, to the ex-communists, to the wannabe communists. Donald Trump surrendered a long time ago to Vladimir Putin. Surrendered to Xi a long time ago. He has nothing but praise for Xi, for Kim Jong-un, these communist leaders, Mika. And that is a message that Xi is receiving loud and clear, that it’s not just Donald Trump now, it is the Republican Party.

This is far from the only context in which Scarborough and Co. are running with the “the Russians are coming” pearl-clutching.

The GOP's star witness in the House impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden has been arrested for lying to the FBI, and he admitted to investigators that evidence he fed to lawmakers had come from sources with ties to Russian intelligence*, which the "Morning Joe" host said that was more evidence that Donald Trump and the Republican Party are beholden to Vladimir Putin.”
Consider the leap in logic and the semantical games being played here: a single witness gave evidence to investigators that allegedly came not from Russian intelligence but “from sources with ties to Russian intelligence."
Continuing:
"Just shocking, you have Russian security services deciding, hey, we can just send unfiltered crap straight to Congress," Scarborough said. "We don't even have to worry about it being filtered by intel services, as we heard the report earlier, it is just shocking, and why is that? Because Republicans hate Joe Biden more than they fear Vladimir Putin. It's really sick. Trump, once again, and Republicans being played once again by Vladimir Putin."
Note the phrase “once again,” as if the Mueller Report didn’t fully refute the years-long Russiagate conspiracy theory.
"Putin has Republicans on a string," Scarborough added. "Think about the fact that Vladimir Putin understands that Republicans are so stupid now in the House, even with the help of their legal counsel, Arnold the pig from 'Green Acres,' that Republicans are so stupid in the House, they can feed Russian disinformation straight into the veins of the United States Congress. Straight in, and because they hate them so much. And then you have idiots running around talking about how they have got this disinformation that will bring down Joe Biden, like they depended on Russian disinformation, they depended on an international fugitive illegally selling Iranian oil to communist China... and all of this to try to take down Joe Biden and none of it is hitting, and we've been saying this for months. Keeps making them look worse."
Scarborough would have you believe that the entire case for Joe Biden being a corrupt sellout is the single source in question, as if the “10% for the big guy” Hunter Biden laptop never existed.

What all of this is really about, of course, is that the Deep State views Trump 2.0 as an existential threat. I only wish he were truly the level of threat they perceive him to be.
