In the least surprising news you’re likely to read all week, Atlanta's DA, currently the subject of ethical proceedings examining her alleged corruption, is deploying the “muh racism” White Supremacy™ card in her defense, aided and abetted by the corporate state media.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is used to prosecuting high-profile, challenging cases. But as she parried questions about her own personal conduct from the witness stand against the legal teams for defendants her office has accused of election interference, many Black women recognized a dispiriting scene.
“It absolutely feels familiar. There is no secret that the common sentiment among Black women in positions of power (is that they) must over-perform to be seen as equals to their counterparts,” said Jessica T. Ornsby, a family litigation attorney in the Washington, D.C., area.
“Here, Ms. Willis is being scrutinized for things that are not directly related to her job performance*, in ways we see other Black women regularly picked apart,” Ornsby said…
In interviews with The Associated Press, many Black women leaders expressed frustration and disappointment that public attention had turned from the merits of the criminal case to the personal conduct of the Black woman overseeing the prosecution. For them, the court challenge to Willis echoes familiar experiences of tests of their authority, competence and character.
“I love that she stood up for herself, but I hate the fact that she had to,” said Melanie Campbell, president and CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation. She said that when she saw video of the testimony she felt: “Why are you all treating her like SHE’S on trial?”
“Black women feel like we’re under attack. And that’s a fact,” Campbell said.
*“Not related to her job performance”! Amazing.
Victoria Taft broke the details down well for PJ Media, but the cliffnotes are:
- Fani Willis, Fulton County DA took up a love affair with a fellow attorney named Nathan Wade as early as 2019, which she did not disclose to anyone as ethics would require after working with Wade professionally
- Willis assigned Wade as the special prosecutor in charge of the Trump prosecution, despite his not being remotely qualified for the job, as PJ Media’s Chris Queen noted
- Wade was paid roughly $650,000 courtesy of Atlanta taxpayers for his service
- Willis and Wade then embarked on multiple lavish vacations, including wine tastings in California and cruises in the Caribbean, which Wade paid for as an apparent, alleged “soft kickback.”
- Willis claims she paid Wade back but has failed to provide any proof, claiming she paid him in straight cash rather than using traceable forms of transactions because… drumroll… racism!
Being an Atlanta native, and having a high-profile attorney relative deep in the Fulton County scene, I can confirm that Atlanta is fully corrupt through and through, and has been for many years. Fani Willis is not special.
But what makes her “muh racism” defense so rich is that Atlanta government is largely run by African-Americans officials. There is a large and powerful black middle class in Atlanta. There hasn’t been a non-black mayor in Atlanta since 1974.
