That clip never gets old, because the President keeps it so fresh with his determination to make you and me pay more for — everything. And he’s so cool and cavalier there about applying the screws to American consumers. So here’s the latest:

The Environmental Protection Agency will ask existing plants to cut pollution by 30 percent by 2030, according to people familiar with the proposal who shared the details with The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, since they have not been officially released.

The draft rule, which sidesteps Congress, will go into effect in June 2016, following a one-year comment period. States will then be responsible for executing the rule with some flexibility.

They are expected to be allowed to require power plants to make changes such as switching from coal to natural gas or enact other programs to reduce demand for electricity and produce more energy from renewable sources. [Emphasis added]

Sidesteps Congress? Of course it does — El Jefe knows best.

Obama and the Enablers either don't understand what they're demanding or they do. Either way, they are trying to arrange for ghastly results and the poor will be hit hardest. How do he and his manage to evade responsibility for damaging those whom they claim to love?
Is it the seal and the sea lion -- you walrus hurt the one you love?
I had that 8-track, incidentally. Loved SVB. That may lower my credibility.

Well, now we know why the EPA needs a SWAT team.

I'm starting to think that we need wholesale re-writing of the Civil Service laws. I know that neither the Employee Unions or their support staff (Democratic Party) will go for it. Perhaps some juicing in the Inspectors-General of the various departments, answerable directly to the Cabinet Secretary or Vice President.

The problem I'm having is that analogous thoughts were in vogue after 9/11 regarding domestic security and from that little effort to "fix" a problem we now have the Department of Homeland Security and especially TSA. And so we re-affirmed the maxim regarding the Road to Hell.

But how DO we pull the fangs of the Gods of Bureaucracy at the various executive agencies? I keep remembering Reagan's once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when he resolved the Air Traffic Controllers strike and weep for that kind of daisy-cutter to use on the rest of the Civil Service.

Of course, if we keep hiring the Mob to run the White House, there is NO solution but the quadrennial one.
