Self-awareness is not the mainstream media’s strong suit. Just a couple of weeks after NBC lamented the presence and impact of there being too much money in politics, its own Savannah Guthrie conducted a glowing interview with Michael Bloomberg. That interview centered on his plan to pour $50 million into his latest anti-gun crusade.

I applaud Mr. Bloomberg in his new 50 million dollar membership drive for the NRA.

You just dont understand. Money in poitics is only a problem if it is conservative or libertarian money, leftist money is just fine. Once you understand that, the NBC position becomes completely consistent.

The more Bloomberg spends, the more the NRA grows. That works for me.

Guns in the hands of citizens are good. (1) A recent study looking at state by state gun laws since 1980 showed that where people could have firearms, murder rates declined by 10%. (2) The assault weapons ban did nothing to lower crime rates. (3) After Sandy Hook, Obama had the CDC take a survey to prove that guns were a detriment to safety; it proved the opposite.

Bloomberg & friends came down on the NRA with a massive PR campaign right after Newtown. The result? NRA membership rose from 4 million to over 5 million in 6 months. At $35 per year, NRA revenue rose from $140M to $175M. Heck of a job, Bloomie!

After Heller and McDonald, The NRA took a campaign to every state, pressing successfully for concealed carry laws. Even Illinois has a permit process.

Colorado passed a restrictive firearms law and the backlash was swift. Grass roots gun owners recalled three legislators who voted for the bill. New York, Connecticut and New Jersey passed draconian anti-gun laws. The police won't enforce these new statutes and the people won't comply.

Which is almost twice the NRA's annual operating budget. And yet a lapdog media will cheerfully continue to peddle the myth that it's the big bad NRA that's awash with gun manufacturers' money so they can endanger your poor liddle chulluns.

Wow. We are starting to look more and more like the America portrayed in Idiocracy. I think Bloomberg has his nose out of joint because so many people disagree with him and now has an "I'll show you" attitude. He has the money. Multimillionaire tantrum. As for the MSM...they're just the product of our education system.
