The following video is titled “Tax the Rich: An American Fairy Tale.” It’s a piece of propaganda worthy of Goebbels, though without the subtlety of such a thug.
Hollywood actor Ed Asner, who is rich, reads the narration, in which he repeatedly accuses rich people of not caring about anyone else and therefore not paying their fair share of taxes. The video uses the “99%” language of the Occupy movement. It culminates in this scene, which depicts “the rich” urinating on “the poor,” as a means of criticizing the “trickle down” economics that helped fuel the longest period of economic expansion in our nation’s history, back in the 1980s and 1990s.
After accusing the rich of all manner of sins, the video defends every perk that the teachers’ unions have squeezed out of California’s taxpayers.
There are literally no facts presented in the video in a fair way. The video never deals with the fact that the top one percent of wage earners in the United States pay about 33% of all the income taxes, and the top five percent pay more than half of all the taxes. The poor reasoning and dishonesty in the video are made worse by the fact that it was created, evidently, by teachers. By the people who are educating your children and mine.
No wonder our schools are failing, and no wonder the teachers’ unions fight so hard to keep any teacher from ever getting fired for any reason.

This is very enlightening. The only group I see “peeing” on anyone is the NEA!! They have figured out how to “legally” steal funds for their PACs, thus securing dominance in political “giving”; they have systematically denied any other organization from forming alternative schools since those schools could become competitors; they refuse to allow honest teacher accountability; and now, with the extreme pensions they have exacted from local municipalities, they are, in essence, bankrupting the state of California!! Anyone here see another stream of urine here??? I don’t.
i dont see another stream but, rather, a pile of…
Yes, absolutely right.
But how is it that most teachers not to mention our educated liberal elite manage to talk such crap?
Read “The Fatal Flaw” at:

Mao and the Politburo couldn’t have done any better.
They’re not even smart enough to realize that the rich guy and pile of gold would weigh more than the 4 poor democrats, in which case he should be on the bottom peeing up at them against the force of gravity. Well after all, it’s California we’re talking about.
Maybe they should consult the physics teachers.
i would like to see a video of all the union turds in the san pedro and long beach docks holding at least a billion dollars hostage by not letting the cargo ships offload their goods (and this is not a new thing – for years the southern california coastline has been riddled with scores of ships unable to access the docks in an efficient manner because of these whiners)
i would like to see a video update of the 500 million dollar public school juxtaposed next to the most recent test scores of the lausd
or a video of the union workers (cops and firefighters- who are supposed to “protect and serve”) in oakland who let some guy drown as they waffled and passed the buck trying to find the right “experts” to save the man
maybe if these disgruntled groups started pissing on each other we might get somewhere
The shipping companies should call the unions’ and the lefts’ bluff and hire illegals to replace the longshoremen.
“What? We’re just trying to help the underprivileged. The border crossed THEM, after all…”
The Longshoremen have held the West Coast, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Pacific territories hostage for the last century. The mere rumor of a dock strike will empty grocery store shelves in Alaska in hours. They aren’t as openly communist as the were when Harry Bridges ran the Longshoremen, but they’re still radical and still avaricious. The last time they struck was over whether the “Dock Clerk” was a union position or an employer position, the union won. The reason it is so important is that the Dock Clerk is the one who knows what’s in the containers and, thus, which ones are worth stealing.
My wife’s ex was a Longshoreman. When I first met her she had every consumer product you can imagine in her house and would have been hard pressed to produce a receipt for any of it. Funny how stuff just falls out of trucks!
Considering the grotesquely large noses that the cartoon tycoons have, I would suggest that the CA teachers are borrowing more from Streicher than from Goebbels.
The narrator is the pee-er.
I find errors in your assessment of that “trickle down” success of the 80s and 90s. In 1982, Ronald Reagan implemented the largest tax hike in U.S. peacetime history during a sluggish economy against the wishes of the GOP. We heard the same “job destroying” arguments. Yet, the GDP grew 4.5% in 1983 and 7.2% in 84. The Dow rose 35% giving the best performance ever. Unemployment fell from 10.6% in 82 to 8.1% in 83 to 7.1% in 84.
In 1993 we saw a repeat as the Clinton tax increases saw job growth, GDP growth, more people out of poverty, and a balanced budget for the 1st time since 1969. Yet, the GOP presented those same job killing arguments that we hear today.
And then came the Bush cuts which after being in place for over a decade, have proven to be an abject failure. This time, the GOP promised job growth and an economic boom. The economy tanked.
And looking back through our economic history, in the 50s and 60s, the top tax rate was 3 times what it is today, union membership was around 30%, the GOP advocated spending projects, the economy was very regulated, and the wealth gap between the rich and poor was nowhere where it is today. The middle class boomed, businesses prospered, and we even put a man on the moon. Worker’s biggest concerns seem to be keeping up with the Jones. According to the CBO, the gap between the poor and rich has tripled since 1979. And while this has proven to be economically fatal, the GOP is still demanding more.
Hey Ron,
You’re not a teacher are you? Cause your “history” reminds me of the same muddled history we saw and heard in Wisconsin last year. If you would like a TRUE history of unions, I suggest you find the book “Special Interest; Teachers Unions and American’s Public Schools”. This is the most definitive work to date and will tell a very VERY different story than what you are trying to peddle. Just sayin’…..
In the 20′s, Harding and Coolidge reduce the size of the government and we ended up with the Roaring 20′s. I’d prefer we go that route, since not matter what the TAX RATE is, the TAX REVENUE has NEVER BEEN OVER 20%.
“In 1982, Ronald Reagan implemented the largest tax hike in U.S. peacetime history during a sluggish economy against the wishes of the GOP.”
Because he was foolish and belived the lies of the democrat controlled Congress of for every “tax hike today, a double reduction of government costs tomorrow” bullox. The dems got their tax hikes and he, along with the nation, got screwed.
Half-truths, deception and lies. It’s the stuff today’s democrats are made of.
Just in case you have trouble find the book, the author is: Terry M. Moe, published by the Brookings Institute, not exactly a conservative’s haven.
The bravest (or dumbest) thing I’ve seen a political leader do in recent times was Swartzenegger’s initiatives to rein in the California public employee unions, and when the sh*t hit the fan, he didn’t have a friend in the World. If that election had been Nationalized the way the Walker recall was, It might have had a very different outcome.
I knew Swartznegger’s labor relations guy pretty well and we talked a good bit as that was going on since at the time he and I were the only Republican appointee-level labor relations heads in the Country and I was the only LR head with any experience extracting concessions from public employee unions. We talked a lot about finding a way for CA to cut off union dues and union political spending, mostly illegal spending, but the Democrats/unions controlled the AG and the Legislature, so Swartznegger was on his own. I’d always had the tactical advantage of being able to hold the unions’ dues stream hostage in order to bring them to heel. CA couldn’t do that, the unions drowned the initiatives in dues money, and nobody in the Country came to Swartznegger’s aid. No wonder he spent the rest of his tenure getting along and going along and banging the maid.
The strike of union teachers at the start of this school year in Chicago was despicable.
Among the highest paid in the nation (in still largely failing Chicago public schools), the strike wasn’t so much about the usual topic, money, as it was the teachers’ objection to competency testing, testing their own competency.
Afraid someone might find out how many of today’s teachers are dumber than boxes of rocks.
As the author here points out, Mr. Asner himself is some kind of “rich guy”. He can narrate all the stupid videos he wants, it’s primarily a reflection of his own stupidity.
But don’t touch his own cash or, like most hypocrites of his ilk, he’ll go ballistic.
A public employee strike, not just teachers, against a Democrat government is never a legitimate labor dispute; it is a charade to excuse the government’s giving the union what it wants. In the case of teachers, the best cue is that they let school start so the People give up their babysitters and alternate care arrangements in anticipation of the kids going back to school. Then after a few days, the teachers “strike” and totally disrupt everyone’s life. After a few days the public will pay any price and bear any burden to get their babysitters back and the government can claim it was moved by the public’s hardships to give in to the union. Under a sane bargaining law, competency testing wouldn’t even be a mandatory subject of bargaining, though the effects of failing would be, e.g., a teacher fails the competency test but the union can dispute whether the employer can discipline him, fire her, or is obligated to retrain, or some such.
Sure, strike against Rahm, and, after a week or so, little Rahm gives in and agrees that Chicago’s halfhearted initiatives to improve teacher quality will be shelved.
Many of California’s wealthy, in Silicon Valley and Hollywood, are full-throated supporters of the Democrat Party. Katzenberg, Zuckerberg, Page, and other California Forbes 400 clubbers see themselves as separate from the “evil” rich caricatured in the video. You need a degree in psychology to understand this sort of displacement.
Not to quibble adam, but a psychology degree isn’t needed. A hallmark of modern liberals is the complete lack of introspection, coupled with no analytical reasoning skills. They don’t see themselves as hypocrites because they have no ability to objectively view themselves or develop logical conclusions to their beliefs. It’s like the Golden Rule only applies to how others treat them, never the other way around. I always laugh at how liberals claim Christian beliefs are un-intellectual, yet most modern liberalism flies contrary to rationality and proven experience.
Tom T nailed it “a hallmark of modern liberals is the complete lack of introspection, coupled with no analytical reasoning skills. They don’t see themselves as hypocrites because they have no ability to objectively view themselves or develop logical conclusions to their beliefs. It’s like the Golden Rule only applies to how others treat them, never the other way around..” so true!!
This is shades of Anti Semitic cartoons, excepting the Jew has been replaced by the Old White Male. And this is widespread throughout institutions of our society. They dont even bat an eyelash, printing cartoons with Greedy White Europeans pissing on People of Color.
Organize for your own protection, because what is coming for white people isnt pretty.

Maybe the teachers who get fired could replace the striking longshoremen?
THe FOOLS neglected to inform the viewers of this marxist drivel that the guy pissing down on the “poor liberals” is a multimillionaire, like comrade 0bummer.
“P*s*ng” indeed. I can tell where this is heading. Of course, given it’s the California Teachers Unions doing this, they are immune from a counter-charge of being mental lightweights with overblown sense of acheivements who got on the public payroll years ago, have half their students fail, and somehow think they are the best and brightest there ever was while everyone else in the universe is stupid if they don’t believe whatever trite thing they throw out there.
California’s answer to its rather dismal public school performance record is, of course, higher taxes & more money, the object being to have more facilities to keep warm bodies in the classroom.
Better teachers and higher academic standards, of course, don’t figure into the paradigm
The high school in my area averages 180 per year and a full day is 6.42. Based on the math for full days the entire school year at the average teacher’s salary being $69,500, a teacher really makes $60 per hour and $124,800 per year in comparison to a private sector worker who works a full time job.
– the Chi-Com cartoons John Batchelor periodically reproduces on his site, but obscene. Welcome to California, America.
This is total propaganda and has no truths in it. Only a really stupid person believes this crap. Poor people pay no taxes currently are they evil? OHO BTW any person who is stupid enough to believe this be aware that over 60% of your congress is rich. This is baseless crap and makes me want to puke. Besides I love to piss on poor people.
What is particularly disgusting about this scurrilous cartoon is the timing of its release. Californians just voted last month against their own best interests in approving Prop. 30, giving us the dubious distinction of being the highest taxed state in the Union. The voters also turned down Prop. 32, therefore allowing unions to continue shoveling dues money to their cronies in Sacramento. It’s no wonder that California was just ranked #1 (for the second time in a row) as the worst-managed state in the Union. The fools who voted for all this might ask themselves why the venial CTA now turns on them and demands even more.
Funny, at first glance I saw it as the union boss pissing on the taxpayers.
With the appropriate changes in costumes and technology, this cartoon could have been distributed by the Christians of the late Roman empire. Their criticisms of the rich were pretty much identical to Ed Asner’s.
It’s a huge irony that you worshipers of Mammon insist that you are Christians. On the other hand, it was a brilliant strategy on the part of those who choose evil to take over the church and make it into the opposite of what it had once been. I guess Jesus is as good a name to put on an idol as any other if you’re an incurable idolater. The next step is to insist that Ayn Rand was the second coming of the Virgin Mary and to replace the Holy Ghost with Ronald Reagan as the third person of the Trinity.
What are you talking about?
Your guess is as good as mine, or anyone else willing to get close enough to his mouth, which is also his rectum, to smell what comes out – which I doubt either of us or anyone with a working brain or nose would ever want to do.
Methinks he’s gone off his meds again.
IRS Slammed by Audit: May Have ‘Erroneously Paid’ Contractors $927,992 By Penny Starr November 29, 2012

The only person peeing on the poor is Barack Obama (and the unions).
In the animated video produced by the California Teachers Association, narrated by Ed Asner, how different in goal is their attempt at to demonize the wealthy than efforts in Germany in the 1930’s to demonize the Jew? The ultimate goal certainly seems to be alarmingly similar enough as to make me wonder why would we allow these people teach our children?
Sorry about the grammatical error…. unlike our divider in chief, I do not have the ability to walk on water.

I spend seven years as a teacher in Kalifornia in the 1970′s. I was “counseled” repeatedly by the friendly representatives of the CTA and NEA because I refused to join their unions. They were motivated only by their agenda and doctrine and didn’t care squat about the students. Luckily, I escaped from that asylum.
I had a similar experience while teaching in one of the multitude of community colleges in Los Angeles County. Same treatment, same outcome. What a bunch of thugs.
I think it was said best on Reason.tv
