Bill Clinton Thinks Americans Are ‘Impatient’ for Recovery
Gee, Bill. We’ve only been waiting three years.
Former President Bill Clinton said Friday that President Barack Obama is facing a tough re-election race because “impatient” Americans haven’t fully recognized an economy on the mend.
Campaigning for Obama in Green Bay, Wis., Clinton urged voters to stay the course as more signs of a recovery sink in. Clinton said voters should judge Obama on the past three years, in which private sector job growth has made up for lost ground.
“This shouldn’t be a race,” Clinton said. “The only reason it is, is because Americans are impatient on things not made before yesterday and they don’t understand why the economy is not totally hunky-dory again.”
The former president said Obama’s difficulty in his race with Republican challenger Mitt Romney is that “people don’t feel it yet” even as the unemployment rate ticks down and the manufacturing sector perks up. Clinton said Obama deserves credit for stabilizing a situation that saw the country hemorrhage jobs well into his first year.
“Gov. Romney acts like from the minute the president took his hand off the Bible he was responsible for every lost job,” Clinton said.
Everywhere he goes, Romney argues that the tepid recovery is grounds for a change. The shape of the economy consistently tops lists of voter concerns.
A local police official said 2,200 turned out to hear Clinton at a college fieldhouse. Clinton won Wisconsin in both of his presidential campaigns.
The “official” end of the recession was June 1, 2009. Today, the average length of unemployment is 39 months. That means it is possible for someone to have been laid off just as the recession ended and have spent the entire Obama “recovery” being unemployed.
What’s there to get impatient about?

As a side note, I live in Green Bay. The venue Clinton spoke at holds over 4,000 – more if you put chairs on the basketball court (I assume they did). The place was half empty.
This from an impeached pervert who gave missile technology to the Chicoms, and who called the liar in chief A STREET THUG!!!
And, a few days prior he was agreeing with Romney about the crappy economy and how it’s not recovering.
But keep your radio dial tuned to WBIL because the narrative will change with the next venue. Like any socialist, he will spout what any given audience wants to hear. If they lean conservative, he’ll happily criticize Obama. If they are largely socialist, then he’ll talk about himself and how great he is and all the great things he’s done.
If they’re in the tank for Barky, he’ll tell them that it was Bush’s fault.
They love to hear themselves talk and they talk and talk and talk ad infinitum. Their memory is wiped at the end of every babble-fest. The media has it all on record but they never seem to realize that what they say today disagrees with what they said even a few hours before.
Clinton is so sleazy that a snake oil salesman runs from him. He will say anything, just as long as it works politically, for whatever he has up his sleeve. Who knows? Perhaps he has plans for wifey to benefit from, now that she has fallen on The One’s sword for Bengazigate.
Either way, leftist dogma – which includes, no lie is too big to tell – is the same world over – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/07/01/leftist-dogma-the-same-world-over-freedom-loving-people-beware-commentary-by-adina-kutnicki-32-2/
Something big is brewing. Keep an eye on this.

This is preparation in case Obama loses. By having Bill Clinton, and others, already out there giving speeches saying the economy is recovering, when Romney wins and things start getting better, they’ll start screaming “See! We told you things were getting better. It was us who saved the world! It was our policies that did this!”

I think Bill and Hillary are both working to undermine Obama, while appearing to support him.
Bill says in Parma, Ohio that “Romney is right-Obama hasn’t fixed the economy.” Parma is in Cuyahoga County, a county Obama will have to dominate in order to win Ohio. Hillary has poked several holes in Obama administration’s bullshit Benghazi cover story. Bill and Hillary have a long history of friendliness with moderate Republicans. And chances are Mitt is going to run a moderate Republican administration. And Bill’s corporate crony friends would find a Romney administration perfectly acceptable.
Bill and Hillary will watch Romney get elected, lay low for a bit, and then come out guns blazing for 2016.
The Clintons back in the White House, not a chance! Romney is a stand up guy,a hard worker and knows how to drive this oil leaking Yugo to the dealer and trade it in for a Nascar!
Americans aren’t impatient, they’re racist. Even the non-fishbellies.
am i wrong or was it not discovered that California didn’t report it’s unemployment numbers, the week that the rate “dipped”?!? and if this is true, WHY ISN’T every conservative (politician/pundit/and minded) person pointing and screaming. of course the number is smaller when you only count 49 instead of 50 states! this poor fractured congress can’t under the best of circumstances keep up with all the cover-ups and scandals I pray we elect “AMERICANS” (i refuse to say men/women/politicians)to office. IF WE ELECT THE WRONG PPL TO OFFICE, THE “WEEDS” WILL NEVER GET ROOTED OUT OF OUR REPUBLIC!
I read something about that, an Obama donor FORGOT to send his statistics. However, I haven’t heard what the adjustment is. I’d love to know.
So, in an alternate universe Obama would win. Well, isn’t that helpful? It’s always the double edge with B.J. Clinton.
Clinton is forgetting that the reason he was elected was that the public was impatient with the pace of recovery when Bush I was president. Further, the evidence of economic recovery then was stronger than the evidence of economic recovery now.
However, he is right when he says it should not be a race–in a sane world an incumbent with the record of Barack Obama would be behind by 20% in the polls. Suppose that John McCain had won the election in 2008 and now had the Obama economic record–40+ months of unemployment over 8%, over $4 trillion in new government debt, real economic growth less than 2%, employment still well below what it was at its peak. Would any Democrat take seriously the argument that the only reason that McCain was not a shoo-in for reelection was that people were impatient? What Clinton is saying is risible.
(Of course a McCain administration would not have had the Obama economic record–the policies of the Obama administration were important in creating that record.)
Bill-Jeff also said that the republicans are responsible for keeping unemployment above 8% for so long though he neglects to proffer any theories as to how that is and what the republicans did/are doing to keep it like that.
With a republican congress that provided solutions to the problem and were summarily shot down by the senate or el persidente himself…while both said entities also not offering any solutions other than “spend more money on it” which has proven to be a dismal way to approach the problem, as predicted by conservatives, then what you have is a stand off where the democrats keep insisting that redistribution will cause jobs to happen and the economy will recover.
Or….what I think is more the likely is that they don’t care about the UE and prefer it as the new normal with that many people now NEEDING government help thus keeping the rolls of socialist voters high. Meanwhile doing what they can to tell an alternate narrative that it’s the republicans’ fault..also engineered so as to turn away the “independents” from voting for republicans. But independents are a myth and a fabrication of the media. They really don’t exist. Every “independent” I ever met voted democrat every time. Mostly because they let their heart rule their head and because they could not decipher anything that required a logical progression.
Correction:
“This shouldn’t be a race card,” Clinton said.
Gee Bill,
You’re actually right. I’m impatient for the recovery and voting accordingly.
+nohype – agreed. This is what happens when people vote symbolism over substance. We had a decent candidate this time, who also happens to be African-American. I had no trouble not voting for Obama in ’08 and I’d have had no problem voting for Cain in ’12. Too bad the media wouldn’t allow a race where race couldn’t be an issue.
Not impatient for recovery but impatient to get rid of do-nothing, incompentent, brain-dead and tone-deaf White House golfer…. come to think of it, those are probably the same things.
I think we’re sick and tired of him and his treasonous, marxist, hag, wife. GO AWAY, CLINTON!
Personally, I’m enjoying the WTF Show: While purportedly stumping for Obama, Clinton consistently finds a way to slip in a “FU Obama” sound byte. Every time.
Could it be Barry has pissed off the Clintons, some how, some way?
Surely you aren’t suggesting that Clinton would like to prevent the Obama legend from eclipsing the Clinton legend? I mean Bill has never shown himself to be self serving when it comes to other Democrats. He always puts the best interests of the party above those of himself or his wife. The man is a saint I tell ya.
I think the public are in-patient with the sick economy.
I submit that it’s Clinton who’s being impatient with the American electorate for not acclimating to the “new normal” quickly enough.
“Impatient” is one word, “desperate” is more accurate esp when this administrations fudging of the economic numbers in order to help “the won” is taken into account.
It is my opinion that what little “on the mend” that exists is due to public hope that Obama only has a few weeks left in office.
American voters only gave Herbert Hoover three years to do something about the economy. He didn’t. Then they booted him out. Obama’s had closer to four years to fix the economy. He hasn’t. And I believe the Great Drepression was worse than this “recession”. He needs to be booted out too.
Ah Slick Scum Bag Rapist Clinton Willie Boy. No one with a brain gives a flying crap what you say dumbo..I learned a long time ago that it takes about a 500 millisecond sample of certain voices and the labels are fetched in my minds eye. ‘Idiot Rotten Lying Leftist Commie Demorat’. That’s label number 42. I would not waste an entire second listening to these pathetic proven liars, ever.
Yup, up until September 2008, I was moving steadily upward for years. Now, I’m barely scraping by and wondering how I will make it if the Bush cuts expire and my taxes go up; because with the rise in food and gas prices and the fact that I haven’t gotten a raise since 2008, I simply can’t take anymore of this. I find it rich to hear rich people say we’re ‘impatient’ — its a slap in the face.
We must always remember that Bill Clinton is the Butcher of Waco. The man responsible for the slaughter of 88 Americans who were guilty of no more than defending their women and children agaisnst a federal onslaught.
Americans are impatient, stupid, and ungovernable. They believe they are smart and work hard. Other people are smarter and work harder. They claim they built their business, but they didn’t build that, somebody else made that happen. They are selfish and don’t want to share. Where else do I get the money to pay off my sugar daddies, Soros, Buffett, and Kaiser, to name a few? Freddie and Fannie, Bill’s piggy banks for his cronies have gone kaput before I had a chance to dip my hands in them. Those Govt. Motors folks are stupid, they couldn’t stop exploding their Volts. Kaiser’s Solyndra was even stupider, couldn’t keep that damn place open pass Nov 6. Now that A123 Battery made batteries that no one wanted. That Chris guy chose a most not-optimal time to check out of Benghanzi. Alas, I got a silly scapegoat film maker in jail. That ought to count for something.
Wow, for a Rhodes scholar, Willy sure has a limited memory.
Here, let me help you out: instead of being impatient, we have been overly patient. The president has declared the recovery started 3 years ago (rememebr how the earth was going to heal, etc?)
We are being practical. If a CEO had this much leeway and had performed this poorly, he’d have been shown the door after a much shorter time period than 4 years.
Yes, Bill, let them eat cake! How arrogant is this? A millionaire who helped create the problem proclaims from his ivory tower that all us lowly plebeians need to be patient for his/Obama’s policies to work. Meanwhile our retirements (not his) Have evaporated, our futures (not his) are on a ship to China, and we (not him) have to make do in retirement with curtailed social security and medicare benefits.

We’ve been patient for nearly 4 years. That’s enough.
Have a nice retirement hugobama and take the clintons with you!
My wife lost her job last May. Her income was paying for my youngest daughter’s college, so we’re now burning through our retirement funds at the rate of $20K+/yr. My health insurance went up almost $100/mo last year and goes up another $60 or so Jan 1. Taxes on my company’s stock dividend will go up 3.8% (or so, I forgot the exact amount). My oldest daughter graduated from college in 2009 but is living at home because she can’t find a job paying more than $10 an hour. My home has lost 6 figures in equity yet my property have gone up. My job is reasonably secure, but no pay increase since 2007. Food prices are way up. Gasoline cost me $100 or more per month than it used to. Haven’t been able to afford a vacation in three years.
Yeah, I’m getting impatient.
Sir, My bill collectors are getting impatient, as does the Tax man.
We hope to be able to heat the house this winter using propane but the Propane dealers get impatient when we cannot pay the full bill. Last winter a 200 gallon fill up cost pretty close to $275.00 I do not want to see the cost this winter but I’m guessing $300.00 a fill up.
Impatient? Who Me?
Nov. 6 I’m going to be really impatient for that date.
I hope to change the POTUS.
