The FBI is investigating casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. He just happens to be funding the Republican megasuper PACs that Obama fears and loathes.
WASHINGTON — The Justice Department is investigating whether Las Vegas Sands Corp., owned by high-profile Republican donor Sheldon Adelson, broke federal law by failing to report millions of dollars of potentially laundered money transferred to its casinos by two high-rolling Las Vegas gamblers, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles is investigating deposits made in the mid-2000s by a Mexican pharmaceutical businessman, later indicted for drug trafficking in 2007, and a California executive with Fry’s Electronics, who later pleaded guilty to taking illegal kickbacks, the newspaper said, citing lawyers and federal officials working on the case.
The Journal said there were no indications that the investigation included actions by Adelson, Sands’ chief executive and a major political donor for the Republican Party. Adelson has pledged to spend as much as $100 million to help Republican candidates in this election cycle.
Just a coincidence. Not evidence of creeping fascism at all.
Of course it is not a coincidence. The side of the political aisle that says we must not stereotype deals only in them. Adelson is a businessman, and a Republican–he must therefore be corrupt. Or so I am sure the reasoning must go.
Speaking of which–How do lifelong legislators like Harry Reid get rich? But of course, the DoJ will never look into that.
Once is coincidence, twice is cause. Exhibit A – Frank Vandersloot. Vandersloot, the founder and CEO of Idaho Falls-based health care products company Melaleuca Inc, Romney donor and yes, target of Federal audits.

This is precisely why I KNOW with certainty that Romney has done nothing wrong. They don’t even have enough to start an investigation.
That’s the Chicago Way.
Is it possible that Barry is not already sitting on ten years of Romney’s taxes, which has been supplied by ops at the IRS?
And is it just a coinkidink that Reid is making baseless accusations about Romney’s taxes that parallels the non-baseless accusations that forced Barry to release his birth certificate?

Meanwhile, back at the White House, the Obama administration refuses to investigate a certain Attorney General who did essentially the exact same thing in reverse: deposited millions of dollars (in weapons) wih Mexican “pharmaceutical businessmen”, who had previously been indicted for drug trafficking. Only in that case, a boarder agent wound up dead and likely untold numbers of Mexicans.
The 10 years of Romney tax returns have already been gone through with a fine tooth comb by Demo oppo research. What, that is against the law? Well, laws are for the little people. They have a president to re-elect!
They probably don’t have anything really significant, or it would have somehow been leaked. So expect Reid et al to continue the “some guy told me” approach until October. Then expect a late October surprise where some minor tax detail will be run up the flagpole. Remember, Romney is a rich guy, so some $50,000 or $100,000 IRS rule interpretation from 10 years ago could be made to look like a tax fraud.
I would almost be surprised if the Demo’s DIDN’T release an October tax surprise on Romney.
