Our Politics Goes to the Dogs

Obama attacks Romney over putting his dog in a kennel on the roof of his car. Rejoinder: Obama ate dog meat as a kid.

Both of these incidents occurred decades ago. I’m already bored with both. They mean nothing. It’s good that the Romney camp knows how to hit back against the idiotic attacks the Obama camp keeps rolling out, but this entire episode is absurd.

Meanwhile, in the here and now President Obama has openly flouted the Constitutional checks on his powers of appointments and carrying out the nation’s laws, attacked the US Supreme Court, promised some sort of missile defense deal with the Russians that he didn’t want the American people to know about, he slammed a duly passed state law while he was on foreign soil, dangerously tilted toward the belligerent socialist Argentine government against our oldest ally the British, and all but declared that he will run for re-election as a socialist himself, in the dubious name of “fairness.” He is already running the most divisive and irresponsible campaign we’ve ever seen, declaring war on the First Amendment’s protection of religious freedom while running gimmicks designed to wage class warfare and turn Americans against each other by income level, gender and race.

The desperate president has become a menace, but the focus of the day is on dogs. This is why we can’t have a nice country anymore.
