This president has sold out Poland once before, to the Russians, on the subject of missile defense. Today’s hot mic comment therefore comes in that context, and is having ripple effects:
Obama’s Republican rivals aren’t the only ones alarmed by his hot mic suggestion that missile defense — implicitly, defending Eastern Europe from Russia — could be softened after his re-election. The headline in the largest Polish tabloid, Fakt: “Were they trading Poland? Puzzling Obama talk with Medvedev about the missile shield.”
Photo of the headline at the link. Poland has no reason to trust this president. Most of our longstanding allies have in fact been treated shabbily by the same man who was caught conspiring with the head of Russians’ corrupt regime.
There are several stories to unpack from the president’s comment. This president was caught recently, in another hot mic comment, denigrating Israel PM Benjamin Netanuahu with French President Sarkozy. That comment reinforced the strong pre-existing impression that Obama doesn’t much care for Bibi or for Israel. President Obama is known to have a longstanding opposition to nuclear weapons and missile defense. One of the few issues he is known to have weighed in on was the 1980s “nuclear freeze” movement, which opposed President Reagan’s successful drive to bolster Europe’s defenses against the Soviet Union. Nuclear freeze was in fact bankrolled in the US and across the West by the Kremlin, that fact isn’t in dispute. Whether Obama knew that at the time or since has never been established. Obama did create this video in which he promised to essentially disarm the United States, and he didn’t create that video in his college days — it came at the beginning of his run for the presidency. Today’s open mic comment falls right in line with that promise, showing again his ideological consistency from his radical college days to the present.
And then, there is the anti-democratic aspect to the president’s comments. What plans are he formulating, that make his “last election” relevant? What is he planning to do that, if the American people were aware of it, would make him unelectable? That is what he is suggesting to the Russian leader — that this final election for him creates “flexibility” on policy that he does not have now. The American people deserve some answers here.
One thing is certain: That hot mic clip will return in the fall, as a serious issue and in campaign ads. And it should.

And this is an example of why it is absolutely necessary that Barack Obama be defeated this fall. Barack Obama isn’t simply incompetent like Jimmy Carter – he’s dangerous.
After the garbage this jackal has dumped on the American populace the last three years, can you imagine what Barack Obama capable of attempting to facilitate without threat of reelection?
The difference in Obama and Carter is that Obama is convincingly incompetent. Carter was just a bumbling incompetent.
Obama is ideologically dangerous in his incompetence. Carter was naive with misplaced judgment, and it quickly unraveled. Obama represents the product of a more sophisticated, structured attempt and strategy not to make these past mistakes again. Was he ever put in office to govern? Rather I think to faciliate an agenda. But as he is still ideologically driven on major political issues, he can easily be careless in letting loose words that expose his mindset and desires, and perhaps actions eventually (if re-elected). This kind of detante “behind the scenes” is revealing, and requires more scrutiny.
Who else has he asked to “hold off” until after the election? Muslim Brotherhood? Iran? He was basically dragged kicking and screaming into the decision to kill Osama bin Ladin (if he hadn’t, his re-election chances would have been close to zero). Who will he sell out in order to be re-elected? Israel? Poland? Taiwan? The citizens of the US (at least the non-black ones, and who knows, maybe even the black ones)?
His incompetence is the one thing saving us from his malevolence.
Barack Obama is in no way “incompetent”—unless you falsely assume that he wants to secure the well-being of the United States and its people.
He has crippled and hogtied the economy, stifled energy production, gutted the armed forces, destroyed American credibility overseas, insulted allies, groveled to enemies, disregarded laws he was bound to enforce, nominated incompetents and malevolents to legitimate offices and grown the size of government with illegitimate “czars”, ramped up spending to obscene and unsustainable levels (much of it to supporters, cronies and insiders), failed to produce budgets, engaged in stealth activities to undermine the Constitution, and intentionally increased racial divisiveness.
That is not incompetence; that is malevolence. That his rhetoric will occasionally say otherwise—or cloak these actions in benign-sounding euphemism—does not make them any the less malevolent.
Couldn’t say it any better myself, Buzz.
God knows how many secret deals Obama has made with our enemies, foreign and domestic, that he’s prepared to unleash upon re-election.
And the man never sleeps. He’s a zombie, plotting and scheming 24/7/365.
He has to concentrate his attention on ginning up a ‘Domestic’ crisis. One that justify canceling/rescheduling the election to a time when things are ‘Calmer and more settled’.
Don’t think it can happen here? Think again.
IS he selling out Poland? Why should they be any different than any other US ally? Seriously, any small country that was under the US defense umbrella that is technically able to, needs to develop its own nuclear deterrent. They have to be able to stand off threats by ANY outside aggressors by making the cost of attacking them too high to bear.

Already been thinking and rethinking. Such is not definite, but well within the realm of possibility.
Subotai Bahadur
It is not entirely outside the realm of possibility that he is thinking, “one man, one vote, one last time” as his final “gift” to the American people. If you look at his Executive Order of 3/16; Section 1020 et sq., of the NDAA; and so on, it would appear he is laying the ground work for mischief.
“And then, there is the anti-democratic aspect to the president’s comments.
“What plans are he formulating, that make his “last election” relevant? What is he planning to do that, if the American people were aware of it, would make him unelectable?
“… that this final election for him creates “flexibility” on policy that he does not have now.”
Indeed.
At last, he slips and makes abundantly clear that his allegiances lie not with the American people, but with the best interests of our enemies.
