President Barack Obama does not plan to release photos of Osama bin Laden to prove his death, CBS News said on Twitter on Wednesday. Obama made the comment to “60 Minutes,” the network said.
If he sticks to this, it’s a bad move in my opinion. If the photo is being withheld out of sensitivity to Muslims, we are once again baptizing Osama bin Laden into mainstream Islam, after years of telling the world that OBL wasn’t a good Muslim. Stupid. Obama has just created his own pet version of the Warren Commission Report. If Obama sticks to this decision, we’ll get a lifetime of bad Photoshops and conspiracy theories out of it. And the radicals who want to kill us will still want to kill us.
I suspect, however, that President Obama will not stick to this decision. I suspect that we will see the photo, probably Friday or thereabouts.

Well, timing is everyting, and Obama will need time to alter or construct photographs,and of course time it to improve his ratings.

I’m just wondering if the photo will raise more questions than it answers… HMMM. What if there bullet wounds are not what was reported? What if the wounds were OLDER than what should appear??? Every time he screws up relaying info, it’s because he didnt tell the truth. Funny how a photo can change that. Who’s to say that the phote we get is not altered??? Hard to trust anyone in this administration…..

Without the photos, and the SEALs who offed Bin Laden, I won’t believe he’s dead.
Never forget, their first and exclusive goal is to only act when it is politically advantageous. I doubt if Muslim sensitivies have anything to do with releasing the photos.
The photos will probably confirm (to experts) that OBL was assassinated, probably at point blank range, and that would be bad news politically. You can tell because stories are beginning to appear now saying how “the adminstration” always wanted it to be a kill job. This is their way of shielding little lenin. Get it out there before he is confronted with it. Make it appear that his staff forced him into it. Make is seem like there has been a policy all along, and they just were following what had been long decided.
They won’t publish pictures unless the spin gets so horribly out of control that the pain of withholding the pics becomes worse than the pain of revealing them.
If a picture is published, I bet it will be one from which it will be very difficult to determine where the shooter was when the shot was fired.
Why would he release them NOW ?
The country will have FORGOTTEN about the killing of Bin Laden by the 2012 elections. BUT WHAT IF THE PHOTOS WERE RELEASED THEN ?? IMAGINE THE BOUNCE IN THE POLLS ?
Y’all should sent email to your contact list urging that the pressure be kept up on the Obama administration to release some photos NOW to PROVE TO THE WORLD that Bin Laden is dead.

What a mess. This Administration excels at making a sow’s ear out of a silk purse.
In the end, I fully believe Obama’s handling of this most excellent event will cement his standing as a one-term President. His indecisiveness on how to handle what should be a straightforward cause for celebration will tarnish this moment forever. Incompetent.
It appears that the means to release the photos to the public, in a manner that will absolve Obama of using them for politricks, is in the works. The administration will be sued under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for release of the photos.
Anyone want to bet that the administration will surrender to the demands of the suit just before the 2012 election ?

Probably pure coincidence, but I understand someone called “Barackets in DC” is desperately seeking a Photoshop Master Artist …
The only other possibility that makes any sense is that Bin Laden (unarmed) was only tasered and taken for intensive interrogation … hence no videos and no pictures (unless doctored) will be released.
If that’s the case, I bet Obama will authorize waterboarding … as he has kept all other of Bush’s policies …
Here’s another scenario which would explain why the post operation story was so garbled, contradictory, and lacked preparation.
1) They had stories and briefs prepared for either the anticipated capture or death of Bin Laden.
2) They tasered and captured him (he was unarmed) and moved him to an American controlled location.
3) The President schedules his announcement.
4) Shortly before the scheduled time, Bin Laden finds a way to kill himself (could easily have had the means implanted in his body within reach of even shackled hands).
5) They don’t want to admit this screw-up.
6) No time to co-ordinate stories … chaos.
7) Tricky to make realistic wounds on a corpse when heart has stopped beating … hence no pictures.
