Admit it: you can’t think of Al Gore any more without tittering, can you? Even some Apple shareholders are disgusted with the former VP turned eco-nut moneybags. He’s become “a laughing stock,” declaimed one disgusted shareholder, and no wonder.
True, Al Gore has positively cleaned up by exploiting the business opportunities that have come his way from the Chruch of Gaia, I’m Greener-than-thou, Inc. The London Telegraph describes him as our “first carbon billionaire.” “There’s gold in them there faked studies, pardner!” Gore’s successful gaming of the system argues for a certain cunning and eye for the main chance. The guy has hauled in an impressive pile of pelf these last few years.
But that success says nothing about his sanity. Alas, the chap is clearly bonkers. I submit as exhibit A the interminable Op-Ed column that his PR-firm, a.k.a. the New York Times, issued today. Here’s the first paragraph:
It would be an enormous relief if the recent attacks on the science of global warming actually indicated that we do not face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.
“Unimaginable calamity,” eh? “Large-scale, preventive measures,” you say? “Human civilization as we know it”? Chicken Little time, what?
Yes, but the part to pay special attention to, of course, is the bit about “Large-scale, preventive measures,” i.e., the heavy, heavy hand of government bursting in to tax and regulate the U.S. economy to death. That’s the goal — or, rather, the goal is putting the government in charge against what Gore later calls “market triumphalism, i.e, the free, you know, market — while various energy enterprises in which Al Gore just happens to have a stake get the red carpet treatment.
A nice question: does Al Gore actually believe the rubbish he spouts? Or is it merely opportunism on the march? I don’t know, but if I were a betting man, I’d say that he has successfully melded credulity and opportunism in to one bloviating whole. Never mind the fact — that’s “fact,” Kemo Sabe, as in “what is actually the case, no foolin’” — never mind that the entire Climate Hysteria Industry is in full-scale retreat since the East Anglia University fraud was revealed last year. Phil Jones will not, repeat not, be attending any environmental rallies until further notice.
It is just lovely that the New York Times — the world’s most discredited newspaper — would give so thoroughly discredited a mountebank this lavish soapbox upon which to make a fool of himself. Next stop, Hyde Park Corner — or maybe a padded cell.

I misread that as “Admit it: you can’t think of Al Gore any more without TWITTERING, can you?”
Same diff.
Says more about The Times than Gore.
Well,I’ll say this for anAL GOREtentive….he made “midnight basketball” what it is today.
Poor Al.
So upset about billions of tons of plant food going into the atmosphere.
The Earth’s atmosphere weighs in at 5 quadrillion tons. Five times 10 to the 15th power. A billion is just 10 to the 9th power.
Carbon dioxide is a minor component of the atmosphere and we are not changing it by much at all. We are just feeding the plants, and that’s a good thing.
Al Gore is a fool or a crook, and most likely both at once.
Also included in this ass-covering blanket (i. e., Al’s piece in the NYTimes) is the following:
“It is true that the climate panel published a flawed overestimate of the melting rate of debris-covered glaciers in the Himalayas, and used information about the Netherlands provided to it by the government, which was later found to be partly inaccurate. In addition, e-mail messages stolen from the University of East Anglia in Britain showed that scientists besieged by an onslaught of hostile, make-work demands from climate skeptics may not have adequately followed the requirements of the British freedom of information law.”
That’s just hilarious. Al’s doing his best to face reality, but just can’t bring himself to admit the truth. He’s at once pompous, narcissistic and dishonest.
Al Gore says: Over the years, as the science has become clearer and clearer, some industries and companies whose business plans are dependent on unrestrained pollution of the atmospheric commons have become ever more entrenched.
Should read: As the science has become more and more murky and discredited, some individuals whose business plans stand to gain from trading carbon emissions have become ever more entrenched.
-No one has answered this one simple question. If global warming is “man made,” then what caused the end of the Ice Age?
What a pity that two ding-a-lings do not add up to one genius!
Healthy days.
Crazy as a fox, most certainly.
On the bright side, Al is likely to get his wish – as the entire scam collapses, we can look forward to the day when we are “free of the Climate Change burden”.
It remains uncertain, however, if we will see life imitate art, with The Goracle and his showman-sidekick James Hansen performing in a Federal Penitentiary, a la Akroyd and Belushi in “The Blues Brothers”.
Al Gore would make Johann Tetzel proud. It seems that he put his divinity school education to good use after all. Talk about an unholy trinity: priest, politician, and shameless grifter! Crazy? Yeah, he is, like a fox.
Al is right! The East Anglia message were stolen and, therefore, CAN NOT be used as evidence him or his foolishness. They said so in a NYT article, so it must be so!
An apology from A. Gore:
“I am sooo sorry that America has become sooo confused by free-bootin’ marketeers. You know, we have to put all these deniers into lock boxes, lock boxes that will never allow them out again, just like Social Security “investments”.
You know, I feel great sorrow too for scientists of great renown who have been maligned simply for presenting data about the coming world-ending-as-we-SHALL-know-it that even the average uneducated American can understand. You can’t skin a cat with a solid gold Spanish rapier from the Royal Armouries museum in London, which I and my late daddy have visited many times. (If you should drop by there, please tell them Senator Gore sent you. I appreciate it.). No, just showing a pig a pearl from the Orient won’t make it put on lipstick, I can tell you that from personal experience.
Finally, I am sooo sorry that the qualities of zinc and the perfumed fragrance that emanates from the mouth of a zinc mine are so misunderstood and defamed. John Kerry for President and goodnight polar bears wherever, sob, you may be.”
It seems the emperor has lost his natural HEMP fiber clothing! perhaps the taxpayers will furnish him and his cronies some smart stylish new pinstriped pajamas!!
He’s not only bonkers but extremely ill-informed. Doesn’t anyone fact check those articles? If someone did that individual would point out to Al that Canada is the biggest exporter of foreign oil to the US. Furthermore the dreadful Canadian stuff comes mainly from the Alberta tar sands which are a horrendous no-no to the save the planet nut cases.
When I was a little girl my father told me during a visit to Sydney, Nova Scotia where he had business with Dofasco which among other enterprises mined coal from under the ocean that the world was full of coal, oil and natural gas under the oceans and in other unlikely places which makes sense when one considers the composition of our planet.
In my opinion Al Gore is a fraud on the scale of Barney Madoff. He may be a moron but his is a slick moron. How much has he made on this fraud $300M or more?? The NYT is not just the Grey Lady. It the the grey, winked and senile old lady. The NYT should change its motto to “Who needs news when we have an opinion.”
Al Gore is the fat smug imbecilic child at the family reunion that even his own parents can’t stand. What’s worse is that the child, tired of being ignored, rifled everyone coats and purses when they weren’t looking.
The science of climate change is not in retreat; only the Arctic ice is. Most people here confuse third hand tabloid reporting with science; or think the periodic table has something to do with menstruation. Sorry, ignorant ones, it is always the ignorant who are the first to suffer from what they in their ignorance deny.
Basing conclusions on wrong data is like baking brownies using 2 cups of salt (as opposed to 1/2 teaspoons). Sure you can eat them but you’d have to drink about 10 gallons of water just to get the horrible taste out of your mouth.
Al Gore has always been and will always be a flim flam, 2 bit, shifty eyed, conniving, no account, snake oil salesman.
There is really no news to this, just more of the same ol’ thang (as they say in the south).
It’s a simple matter. All we have to do is stop producing energy for this nation and eliminate the transportation industry and we will have done our part.
Of course, I would like to go into the candle and bicycle producing business.
CO2 emissions in this country come largely from burning of fossil fuels. Mostly, big cities burn the most. Let’s eliminate the big cities and all the Democratic kneejerk voters inside them. Let’s become more rural and exurb dominant.
And, to tell you the truth, eliminating the UAW, traffic jams, and urban blight in the process.
The easiest way to do this would be to limit the population size of any one city or any city that has maxed out it’s “population credit”…which it can swap with any city at least 500 miles away.
No two cities within a 500 mile radius may expand beyond the population limit. I arbitrarily set this at 100,000 people. You would have to pay a “use tax” of 65% to be above 50,000 people, however.
And, in “redistribution” of the wealth of services offered to keep the large metrosexual…I mean, metropolitan behemouths going…you would have to pay the rest of the country a “service tax”, for gobbling up more than your fair share.
In addition, if you live on the coasts, in a behemouth “net service bloat city”, you would have to pay an extra “ocean view” tax, since those waterways belong to all of America, but only you get the benefit.
Moreover, in terms of “carbon footprint”, Washington DC politicians seem to fly and drive incessantly. Al Gore is the Sasquatch of personal carbon footprints. I hereby propose that it is wholly unnecessary for all this flitting about. The Tea Party populists hereby announce a willingness to pay for Go To Meetings.com annual fee for the rest of the Democratic dominion over the government (now until November), for all members of the House and Senate and their paid lobbyists.
We ask that this be taken out of the money currently being wasted on a stimulus bill that none of them read, (and all the trees that had to be deforested in order to print up something nobody read), the boondoggle that was the Copenhagen fiasco, and the Kickback Hoot&Nanny spectacle that is the current health care mess.
That should save about $8,000,000,000 and we can finally begin to do something about lowering taxes for the 50% of this country who have been carrying us on their backs for the past 40 years.

Right wingers and Al Gore == Snails and beer
Morons.
Now imagine that this fool could have been our President on September Eleven 2001.
Then grab a candle, a really big one, and run to light it in any Church you might find not (yet)covered with red flags and maoist slogans.
Hallelujah !

Could the trolls stop trolling, please please, and come here to shovel snow and to pay my gas bill ? I do not imply that the largest snowfall in the history of this region means anything, but I need young and strong people to be able to get my car out of the garage, and the gas bills are really too heavy for my budget.
C’mon, DO save the proletarians, send me your money.
Thank you in advance.
And Al, please tax yourself and send me a million or two.
BC comes on strong with another witty and logically grounded retort; bravo! You’re so correct and we right-wing nutjob denier teabaggers (did I miss any, BC?) are all so wrong!
#17 Albert,
Oh, I get it now. I was about to rail at the most asinine, self-deluded post I’d seen in a while and then noticed the name. You were deliberately sounding like you were unaware of reality and then using the Goracle’s name for your ID. Clever.
Mr. Kimball:
“Yes, but the part to pay special attention to, of course, is the bit about “Large-scale, preventive measures,” i.e., the heavy, heavy hand of government bursting in to tax and regulate the U.S. economy to death. That’s the goal — or, rather, the goal is putting the government in charge against what Gore later calls “market triumphalism, i.e, the free, you know, market — while various energy enterprises in which Al Gore just happens to have a stake get the red carpet treatment.”
Oh NO, sir! It’s far, FAR worse than that!
Here’s Al Gore the “Eco-John the Baptist’s” money quote:
“From the standpoint of governance, what is at stake is our ability to use the rule of law as an instrument of human redemption. After all has been said and so little done, the truth about the climate crisis — inconvenient as ever — must still be faced.”
Al Gore is going to use laws to “redeem” us.
Got that?
I read stuff like that, and I have to physically restrain myself from reaching for a rifle…
# 17 & 20
Oh BC/Albert, I’m so glad you’re back. You sure can take a beating. How else can we observe the librul mind in action. The lib pols are just liars, but you tell it like it is in the left brain in all it’s appalling exactness. I’m as glad to hear from you as W.C.Fields was to hear about his $20.

So angry. So stubborn. So cynical. So negative. So juvenile. So sad. I’m sure you’ll all remember your snow-based convictions as proof of your political assertions when it’s 119 in Iowa this summer. How do I know AGW is rel? I heard it from a drunk Iraqi cab driver named Curve Ball.
Shameful.
Gore needs to be questioned,
publically, by…lets say, Beck.
No holds barred , Gore has to answer, and Gore can’t walk off.
Sure I know that will never happen.
Gore will be treated ever so gentally…after all he was almost president, democrat at that.
I would love to claim credit for the thought myself, but attribution goes to Dennis Miller who says:
Either AlGore believes this stuff and is a monstor (due to the hypocracy of his living arrangements), or he really doesn’t believe what he preaches and is just a slick, snake oil salesman with a shtick.
I suppose a third is a possibility and that he is completely unhinged, crazy. I personally don’t have a clue as to which he fits into, but if I had to guess, I pick the snake oil salesman. Oh well, one more liberal hypocrit!
I needed a good laugh this morning! That op-ed piece (of s**t?) has SO MANY holes in it, one could drive a fleet of smoke-belching diesal trucks through it…
I like this “carefully” worded sentence:
“Some news media organizations now present showmen masquerading as political thinkers who package hatred and divisiveness as entertainment.”
Noooo…say it ain’t so, Al! I didn’t realize you had the gonads to recognize what MSNBC and Olbermann, Maddow, et.al., actually did!!
I KNEW there was something in there I could agree with him on….
13. I like the sentiment, but prisoners these days wear orange jumpsuits instead of pinstripe pajamas.
“But what a burden would be lifted! We would no longer have to worry that our grandchildren would one day look back on us as a criminal generation that had selfishly and blithely ignored clear warnings that their fate was in our hands.”–Al Gore
Piss off, you fat hypocrite. You put more CO2 into the atmosphere in a day than I do in a year.
“When Al and Tipper Gore had recovered from the initial shock of the 2000 election, they spent $2.3 million on the house they live in now: a hundred-year-old Colonial on Lynwood Boulevard, in the Belle Meade section of Nashville. They still own a place in Arlington, Virginia—a house that was built by Tipper’s grandfather—and a ninety-acre cattle farm in the Gore family seat of Carthage, Tennessee; but Arlington was perilously close to Washington, and Carthage was too remote for a full-time residence, especially for Tipper. Belle Meade, which resembles Buckhead, in Atlanta, or Mountain Brook, near Birmingham, is a prosperous redoubt for businessmen and country-music stars; it encompasses a neighborhood of broad, sloping lawns, and houses with magnolia trees and “estate” driveways up front and glassy modern additions and swimming pools out back…”
“…Gore also installed an anti-bug system that sprays a fine mist of ground chrysanthemums from various discreet sources: a tree trunk, a patio wall. “The mosquitoes just hate it,” he said. Other features of the house are less environmentally correct. A 2004 black Cadillac, which Gore drives, was parked in the driveway. A ’65 Mustang—a Valentine’s Day gift from Al to Tipper—was parked in the garage.”–New Yorker
I live in an 800 square foot house, that doesn’t even have an air conditioner or a dishwasher, I have one automobile which I drive maybe 20 miles a week…and you’re trying to preach to me about not putting CO2 into the atmosphere, and about how the internal combustion engine is going to destroy the earth???
Take your giant mansions, your Cadillacs and Mustangs and stick ‘em where the sun don’t shine. When you live the (semi)-Spartan lifestyle I lead, THEN you can start preaching to me. Until then, shut your fat mouth.
#29 skeeziks:
“So angry. So stubborn. So cynical. So negative. So juvenile. So sad.”
That’s alright skeeziks, we don’t hold that against you.
In fact, Ex Vice-President Dick Cheney has suggested some laws we can pass…and enforce…in order to redeem you.
Cuz, we’re GOOD people n’all, real GIVERS!
We are going to help you realize the full potential of your personhood!
Anyone who remembers all the ‘stretchers’ gore told during his campaign for president already knew he was bonkers… Hence the phrase ‘moonbat’.
Let us again remind the self-righteous and defensive warmers among us, fighting the rearguard action with ad-hominem attacks now that the science is gone and the earth is not cooperating, that when there less than normal slow, it ‘proved’ global warming.
Now they will have us believe lots of snow also ‘proves’ global warming. Only an irrational mind can sustain fantasies of that nature.
I’ll put my hard-science degree up against Al’s divinity degree and we’ll race to scientific conclusions for pink slips. Okay, it’s almost as much science as the tripe he’s writing.
Al cherry-picks through his critics’ complaints and refutes them with claims that rely on data that possibly never existed or with analytical techniques recently shown to be critically flawed. This is exactly what his predecessors did for years. At least one can see he learned well from the likes of Phil Jones and Michael Mann.
I have to thank Al with my deepest gratitude for writing this swill. He could have held a presser. I would have lost my lunch if I’d had to listen to him drone on with that condescending monotone in his voice. Write more, Al. Talk less.
Nobody’s buying it, Al. And with what you’ve been selling and the money you’ve made off of it, that’s probably the scariest part of this scientific revelation: look who got stuck with the carbon indulgences.
I’ll even help out Al with a special hint: You just needs to work on that “trick to hide the data” a little better. Call Phil Jones formerly of East Anglia. I don’t think he’s busy these days. You two should talk.
(PS: Al, you’ve finally made me happy Billy didn’t get convicted during impeachment hearings and have to leave office. At that point we would have been a nation led by a president with his CFL on but nobody home.)
Life is tough choices, eh?
I can choose between fat Al and his CO2 spewing mansions or the bumptious blather against him here.
Hmmm, if life does not put perfect solutions out there for us, at least there is plenty of slapstick entertainment.
The respective self-indulgence of Clinton and Gore effectively turned me against them, but there’s not much to hang one’s hat on the oyther side/over here, either.
Obama and then maybe Romney will have to do the heavy lifting on CO2 emissions regulation or the lack thereof. An “intelligent” energy policy is what we need; all we are lacking is the intelligence.
What is important is that the overwhelming consensus on global warming remains unchanged.
That would be even though the main guy at East Anglia, Phil Jones, acknowledged recently that the science is anything but settled.
I knew Al Gore would never change, that all the recent events in the field of so called climate science wouldn’t alter the stuff flying around between his ears one iota.
Too much of his ego at stake, not to mention his wallet.
Would you buy a used car from this guy, let alone rely on his “scientific” claims ?
’cause the interior of the Earth is extremely hot, several million degrees
Gore could care less about global warming or climate change. He made a rather large investment in the carbon credit trading scam and will say and do anything to protect his position in the scam or he loses a lot of money. We have left the realm of science and replaced it with fear advocacy abetted by the MSM. As for the true believers in all this crap, they are in a no lose position, Gets warmer? Climate change. Gets Cooler? Climate change. What you don’t hear from these idiots is the math that describes what the anticipated effect (Less hurricanes, Balmy weather) will be if we turn over all our money and rights to slay their boogy man of the moment. Send them a message. sell your stock in any company that supports Earth first, the sierra club or is ‘going green’. I believe we’ve spent enough on these doom mongers and it will take generations to undo what they have done to the industrial base in this country. You remember, back when we had factories that produced goods instead of services.
Albert,
This sea ice nonsense has to stop. There is now evidence, which is a lot better than stories. Just go to http://igloo.atmos.uiuc.edu/cgi-bin/test/print.sh?fm=02&fd=20&fy=2007&sm=02&sd=20&sy=2010 and you will see that the Feb 20 Arctic ice was greater in extent than on that date in 2007. And you can go back as far as you like, this is not a good place to make your stand.
#21, so true. And for years thereafter, the libs, mainstream media and Gore, himself, tortured Bush and the right for what these sore losers believed was a stolen election. Things truly happen for a reason, so Thank God this whackjob did not become POTUS, and it’s so fitting that now he’s totally discredited and a laughing stock worldwide.
Best line from Gore NYT article:
“From the standpoint of governance, what is at stake is our ability to use the rule of law as an instrument of human redemption.”
Exactly. But you’ll have to excuse me, Mr. Gore, et al, if I decline to entrust MY redemption to YOUR governance.
Well, at least NYT didn’t open the article up for comment. That would have invited this:

“Similarly, even though climate deniers have speciously argued for several years that there has been no warming in the last decade, scientists confirmed last month that the last 10 years were the hottest decade since modern records have been kept.” “a new NASA analysis” The thermometer was kept very close to Al’s annus.
It’s guaranteed this latest temperature finding will be proved to be an error of some kind, just wait for it. Whoops! Look who is coming to big Al’s aid. Yes Doctor Hansen, who has already been caught faking data in the past.
“There’s a contradiction between the results shown here and popular perceptions about climate trends,” Hansen said. “In the last decade, global warming has not stopped.” Big Al and Dr. Hansen are saying to all you deniers; Ha Ha!
So let’s set the record straight; the liars who have already been caught lying are now telling the truth. What’s definition of insanity?
Well Al Gore and Dr. Hansen this is the truth; There is no “Gaia” and there is no “Mother Nature” and there is no “man made climate change”. There is greed and there is corruption, then there is the truth and there is justice and you will be held accountable to both for your lies and deceptions. The Creator of all things who controls the Earth and it’s weather will see to it.
#29 skeeziks:It appears it’s time to re-remind Skeeziks that her Messiah got his start turning tricks for a slumlord.
Hardly the sort of thing one would do if they truly had the magical powers necessary to stop the oceans from rising and heal the planet…
And lest we forget: Al and Tipper did so much to clean up the music industry. Ah yes, so many crusades.
The Gore started his wandering in Alice In Wonderland when he self-proclaimed that he and Tipper were the source of LOVE STORY and next that he invented the Internet. It has been only a short trip to his appocolypsical “Global Warming (I mean cooling) Fraud”. You only have to hear him speak once with his smarmy voice to know he was telling tales to children. The Brothers Grimm had nothing on Big Al.
Why would we want to “do something” about CO2 emissions?
Do you have a grudge against plants, against the carbon cycle that has been running on this planet for 2 billion years?
If folks really cared about the Earth they would encourage more CO2 emissions. We are in an Ice Age and have been for about 3 million years. This climate is too cold and dry. The Earth can do a lot better. Orange groves in Maine, vineyards in England.
Ignorance, greed, and a pathological need to control other people are what is truly wrong with this World.
Al Gore is all three incarnate.
Alexandr Solzhenitsyn wrote that the assertion that Soviet Communism worked as advertised was at first called the Big Myth, and then the Big Lie. It corrupted the societies, the minds and souls of hundreds of millions of people all over the world. All who refused to bow lost something, and some who refused to bow lost everything. The Soviet Union was an evil empire, and the global warming movement is becoming one.
The Bloated Lie of the West is exactly as Al Gore describes it: that the end of the earth is near due to the industrial revolution of the West, and so that revolution must be reversed.
The Bloated Lie rests on a chain of suppositions, all of which must be true:
1. Any warming cycle recently observed (if it actually exists in unbiased measurements) is a long-term trend and not naturally variation;
2. The trace gas C02 is responsible instead of the far more prevalent water vapor;
3. Humanity is responsible for any high levels of C02;
4. Reducing C02 across the globe will reduce temperatures by a detectable amount; and
5. The stakeholders of Anthropogenic Global Warming will actually act fairly in monitoring each step above.
I reject each and every one of these five points, especially the fifth one. The central proponents have already become corrupted, with Al Gore serving as Exhibit One. I reject the Bloated Lie.
Let’s concentrate on reducing actual pollution, not on serving an ideology and licking the hands of tyrants who will enrich themselves while impoverishing and enslaving us, and then laughingly discarding us on the ash heap of history.
That Al Gore was a hair’s breadth from the Presidency demonstrates with great clarity that Obama is only the latest manifestation, and hardly the cause, of our decline.
I never really was a Bush fan, but the fact that he saved us from President Gore should earn him several points.
21. Sherab Zangpo: “Now imagine that this fool could have been our President on September Eleven 2001.”
If he’d been president, perhaps 9/11 would have been prevented. Perhaps he would have acted on CIA warnings and not brushed off the bearer of those warnings with “OK, you’ve covered your ass.”
That bloated self important elitist lying windbag makes me apoplectic with rage. He should be in jail. He almost ranks up with the president himself as a vile pernicious venal opportunist. He is a total disgrace to the human race. Do yourself a favor and skip reading the whole NY Times OPED like I did. Your eyes will fly out of your head. I don’t know if he is crazy, just plain evil or both. His gravy train social engineering experiment is about to crash and he is pretty pissed about it. Pissed at the crazy right wing media pundits who work to expose this fraud at every opportunity. He longs for the days when media choices were few and far between. He has hijacked science for his own political and finacial gain. The scientific process has taken a real hit because of him and his nonsense. He uses normal climate amd weather to make his case and rambles on about climate refugees and global anarchy . The emails that started this were stolen and should thus be discarded as evidence. On and on he goes. Like Pelosi he is mad as a hatter. Common sense would dictate that if climate change was so dire and such a threat to the planet that he would chose to live his life differently. His house, private jets, fleet of Escaldes idling for hours in the August sun while he conducts important meetings with his family in tow. It is a joke he makes me want to puke. I loath and despise him. He is unhinged over the 2000 election. Simple as that.
Fix CO2?? No problem. Produce all electricity with nuke plants. Pass a law that 90% of all seats on private planes not on training flights be full or no flight. Pass a law that all senators and congressmen must fly commercial. No more $100,000 bills for booze for Pelosi think of all the CO2 to produce that much booze.

Al Gore’s climate change position reminds me of the old Groucho Marx line, “What are you going to believe me or your own eyes.”
Climategate is proof that Sarah Palin is smarter than Al Gore.
Can we throw this one back into the primordial ooze?
“Life is tough choices, eh?”
Not at all. Choosing to ignore and ridicule hypocrites like Al Gore, and every other AGW proponent on planet earth, is as easy as it gets.
If any of them actually practiced what they preached, then it would be a tougher choice, but since they don’t, it isn’t.
Don’t you folks get it, Al Gore is only trying to distract us from our real problem: Dick Cheney has gotten a hold of our earthquake making weapon and is using it as his own personal XBOX. Right now we “face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization” from the whims of this man. Gore is just a stooge for Cheney and his Haliburton minions. Please people, wake up before it’s too late. Uh oh, does anyone else feel that?
Algore has some mighty deep pockets thanks to the AGW scam. He needs to be sued. I’d like to have some of that “green” Algore has. Count me in on any and all class action suits against Ol’ Algore.
Haha, knee-slappin’ funny! Another good one from Al “I invented the Internet” Gore!
#52 Joseph,
No, Algore would have followed the lead of Big Bubba Sugar-Daddy Bill and ignored anything that didn’t fit his narrative. Were you not aware that the Sudan had OBL in custody and was offering him to the Clinton administration? Bill, of course, declined. Actually, sometimes I wish Algore had won because HIS response to 9-11 would have been so tepid and milquetoast that Democrats would be hard-pressed to get elected to a school board now.
Unless Gore is made to answer for his part in the climate mess, nothing will do any good, and he wins.
I’m with Lane. Gore’s point of using the rule of law for whole-scale human redemption shows what a true fanatic and lunatic he is, all the while pointing fingers and hockey sticks at the evils of market fundamentalism. What a put down and demonization of the very forces that have helped make this country great.

Bwhaha.
The sun is 27 million degrees.
I guess earth used to be a small sun that is collapsing and growing colder?
Do I see a black hole in our future?
“If he’d been president, perhaps 9/11 would have been prevented. Perhaps he would have acted on CIA warnings…” = Joey
Libtards always use the same tactics. Just like Algore will continue to repeat the sames oft de-bunked lies and out of context half truthes our lower echelon libz will do the same. Even though the 911 commission and any sane person acknowledges Bush never had actionable intelligence re 911 (thx to Ms. Jamie Goerlich in part). libtards, who follow Mikey Moore with the same level of fealty as they do Algore (absolute adoration), will continue to promote this myth.
Joey, a crime is going to be committed tonight in your town. There you’ve been warned. Now go prevent it.
Please Al stay away from the news or anything we all know you are a bore. Come on a power point presentation for a movie? It actually won some sort of award, that is insanity, but listening to democrats (progressives/communists/socialist) it makes perfect sense to me now.
Al Global Warming (Climate Change) as you present it is bogus and is now the giant FARCE you have made it, you are not funny so stay at home while you can until perhaps we can make you homeless for the fraud you have committed on this nation and the world!
I think we’re the fools for allowing Gore to continue to rip us off. There must be a way to put Gore in jail. How is the media making sure Gore is getting investigated? Gore’s intelligence is of no interest to me. Hasn’t he accepted tax payer grant money in some of his many companies? I am soooooo tired of paying for losers and thieves with bailouts and corruption; this is more of the same. Let’s take care of biz and get this guy behind bars so that even the NYTimes wouldn’t continue to publish his lies (we would hope!)
Bilgeman at # 27:
Spot on. That’s the really sinister part of Gore’s article. That Gore is “bonkers,” as Roger puts it, seems too mild an atribute in light of this novel, as far as I can tell, salvationist idea: “what is at stake is our ability to use the rule of law as an instrument of human redemption.”
I don’t know what’s most frightening and sickening in this single phrase … The “us” implied in “what is at stake is our ability to use the rule of law” versus “them,” the rest of humanity that needs redemption … The idea of secular law as an “instrument” of “human redemption”..
In Gore’s own words, it seems that what’s at stake is not really “human redemption” from ecological sin, but Gore’s and his caste’s ability to force it on others through the power of law, as if this is what our laws/Constitution entailed.
Al would do well to remember the old but true saying ‘Practice what you PREACH’ as would his fellow Green NAZI the LYING MOHAMMEDAN BOGUS POTUS.

Which is why my gut reaction is to reach for a rifle.
Because first they decide to “redeem” you by sending you to the Labor Camp, THEN they rationalize the reason they decided to send you to camp later…if anyone who is not yet in, and is unable to be sent to a Labor camp, should bother asking.
Admittedly, I’m being hyperbolic,(at least I HOPE so), but the place to stop a totalitarian tyranny is in its’ infancy, when it is weak and can only manage to call you names for “needing redemption”.
from my website:
http://truthandcommonsense.com/2010/02/28/al-gore-finally-speaks-he-pleads-for-senate/
In essence, Al Gore and Soros and Goldman Sachs are poised to make billions from the new currency- Carbon Credits. Gore appeals to his last chance, a bi-partisan group of mushy Senators, led by Graham. This is disgusting beyond belief and certainly puts Beck over Bennett and others that claim there is a huge difference between the parties.
52. Joseph:
Joe y-o-u a-r-e a-n i-d-i-o-t. but I do envy your world where the liberal/progressive/marxist world is a utopia I will never see
To be Vice President and come tantalizing close, but ultimately failing, to become President has caused at least four other VP’s to subsequently go off the deep end: Aaron Burr (duelling Hamilton and indicted for treason for conspiring to conquer Mexico), John C. Calhoun (laying the political groundwork for the civil war and promoting slavery as a positive good), John C. Breckinridge (expelled from the Senate after he became a Confederate general, later CSA Secretary of War), and Henry A. Wallace (opposed the cold war, admired Stalin, and was the 1948 Progressive Party presidential candidate). So another bonkers ex-Veep who almost became President is nothing new. Albert Arnold Gore makes five.
Mr. Gore is serious, kiddies! The only surprise is the NYT publishing Al’s piece on the opinion page and not as hard”news.”
When I think of Gore all I can do is laugh.
cognitive dissonance pure and simple is what it is. The more somebody’s false belief system is exposed for the nonsense that it is by contradicting evidence, the more they will hunker down and declare the evidence false and their discredited lies the gospel truth. In other words, the NY Times and Gore’s madness is to be expected. It’s only going to get worse, the climate hysterics, not any less bad for this very reason – dissonance and the rationalisations that follow. Since when do facts have anything to do with how people think and behave?
In evaluating Gore’s op-ed, it’s revealing to read National review’s 2000 compilation of “The Gore Lies:”
http://article.nationalreview.com/305471/the-gore-lies/nro-staff
Gore’s tenuous relationship with reality is nothing new. It’s worth noting that had he carried his home state of Tennessee in 2000, he would have been president regardless of the Florida results. As a resident of Tennessee since 1971 and former constituent of his since he became my congressman in 1977, I can tell you that the reason this favorite son didn’t carry his home state is very simple: those who know him best like him least.
i see that al gore has surfaced from the witless protection programme.
How the “Times” has changed – the pun is intended
I think you might get a good laugh at this.
I ran across the following passage in an excellent biography of J. P. Morgan, titled Morgan, written by Jean Strouse, and published in 1999 by Random House. The reference is from page 356.
It concerns the purchase of The New York Times from New York Democrats in 1896 by Adolph Simon Ochs, who Strouse described as a successful Southern Democrat and then owner of the Chattanooga Times.
From Wikipedia, “Ochs’ great-grandson Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr. has been publisher of The New York Times since 1992.” In other words, Arthur “Punch” Sulzberger is the present publisher of the Times.
The Morgan passage reads …
“In his first issue as publisher of the Times on August 19, 1896, Ochs announced that he would publish the news “impartially, without fear or favor, regardless of party, sect, or interests involved,” and would not depart from the policies that distinguished the Times as a “non-partisan newspaper – unless it be, if possible, to intensify its devotion to the cause of sound money and tariff reform, opposition to wastefulness and peculation in administering public affairs, and in its advocacy of the lowest tax consistent with good government, and no more government than is absolutely necessary.”
Double down Big Al — more COWBELL!
Say what you want about Goofy Gore, but the flim-flam man has made $90 million on this scam. Some tar and feathers might help shut him up.

Scary to remember that this Fool almost became President of the United States. And who would have been his Vice President? Oh yes, that paragon of virtue John Edwards.
“Admit it: you can’t think of Al Gore any more without tittering, can you?
I’ll bet the response to this is a resounding “Yes,” considering the majority of PJM readers, Rog (e.g., #72: “…Green NAZI the LYING MOHAMMEDAN BOGUS POTUS”}.
68. Justa Joe: “Even though the 911 commission and any sane person acknowledges Bush never had actionable intelligence re 911….”
Yes, we know how scrupulous the Bush White House was about “actionable intelligence.” Even W joked, “Those WMDs must be around here SOMEWHERE!” Some joke.
A certain former Vice President can’t give it to you straight when he’s crooked.
I am so thankful that we can say ‘former vice president’about Algore.
All greenhouse gases worldwide make up 2 percent of the atmosphere. Only 3.6 percent of that 2 percent is CO2. So the atmosphere is less than one-tenth of one percent CO2. Even using the warmists models, if everyone adhered to the economy killing Kyoto Protocol of 1997, the affect on the temperature today – 13 years later -would not be measurable.
Meanwhile California plows ahead with their draconian “Global Varming Bill” # AB32. It will raise energy prices by 14% and kill about 1.1 million jobs according to a university (believe it or not) study. Since we contribute only about 2% of the worlds CO2, you can see how ridiculous this is. Even if we all left the state and shut down everything you wouldn’t even be able to measure any change in global CO2 let alone any climate affect. Do you see now why right thinking people think that this AGW thing is total insanity?
Oh, but AGW proponents say – this will be made up for with green jobs. Well Spain has been very aggressive in favor of AGW, using scarce taxpayer money to promote and create “green jobs”. It is estimated that for every green job that was created they lost 2.2 real jobs. Oops! They are going bankrupt in part thanks to this insanity. And from an economic point of view, a job has to create value for it to be sustaining and beneficial to society. These do not and are not.
If the AGW crowd and their patrol troops (trolls) were really serious about helping the planet and the people and other life forms that dwell upon it, they would stop this nonsense. It doesn’t work the way you think it does. Get your hands off of those controls before you really break something.
Apple is living proof that having Al Gore around long enough and you’ll get a stupid product – the iPad, for example.
If I was Stve jobs I’d rid my Board of this bumbling fool.
Remember when you were a kid and your mother would tell you to engage your brain before you engage your speech? What happens if you’re like Al Gore and that brain has disappeared? Poor Al.
In an age characterized by deceit, manipulation ,and fraud:fraudulent real estate based boom;bankrupt social services; a politically hollow president;the printing of valueless dollars,Excrement as art;The NY Times, considered “the paper of record”, It was only logical, that the religion of the secular left(Global Warming),would be revealed as the bigest fraud of all,and its high priest as the apotheosis of fraud. We eagerly await Gore’s inevitable nervous breakdown, and descent into madness.
#89 Joseph:
“Yes, we know how scrupulous the Bush White House was about “actionable intelligence.” Even W joked, “Those WMDs must be around here SOMEWHERE!” Some joke.”
You’re tha joke, ace…and pretty sad and pitiable one at that.
What the PHUKK does Bush/Iraq/WMDs have to do with the subject of Al Gore on his soapbox at the NYTimes and emitting greenhouse gases from his soup-cooler still trying to sell the proven fraud of man-made global warming ?
Oh…nothing at all. You didn;t really have any kind of argument, so you defaulted to moonbat sloganeering mode.
I’ts so simple, even the progressive’s constituency can understand it……observe the lifestyle of Gore versus what he preaches….even he doesn’t believe his own schtick!
To all believers, when will the world end if we continue on our current path? I need to know a firm date if that wouldn’t be too much trouble. Also, if you could pinpoint the actual destruction date of New york due to the rising sea waters that would be great . I’m coming to you for this information because of your uncanny ability to predict future weather events based on ingenius weather forecasting models, that despite being wrong for the first 10 years, you assure me are infallable for the next 100 years. I am counting on you to right because I am about to pay about 7.5 percent of my income in carbon taxes. I know your exaustive scientific studies and endless hours of research have given you the confidence to assess me these taxes and you are in no way suspicious of those that have profited enormously from the creation of “carbon duties” So if you could be so kind as to provide those two bits of information I would truly appreciate it. I know you could provide a much larger array of dates of destruction, but i only require those two. Thank-you so much
I’m positive that the recent video of bin Bogeyman blaming the U.S. for global warming is a production of ManBearPig studios.
All it needs is a title, and I have a suggestion: how about (drum roll, please) The Mexican Staring Osama of Southern Al (Gore) Qaeda?
On a more serious note, it should have been obvious to anybody a long time ago that a man who could stand by a crook like Slick Willie was a natural snake-oil salesman.
89. Joseph
Dear Joe, perhaps you have access to some crucial piece of intelligence that the rest of the intel community were not privvy to prior to 9/11.
Please share. Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks in advance.

P.S. You wouldn’t, perchance, happen to be Sandy Berger would you?
Well it is clear he is part of the elitist class. That said, he has brought attention to the dire situation with the Human-Global Consuming of the Eco-field. Maybe the Earth will get warmer and maybe it will get colder. But in the long run it will probably do both.
After reading Joseph,BC,SKWEEZITS,and the other demented libtards trolling PJM,It’s obvious that the problem afflicting the world was not global warming. It was global syphillis!
It’s reported that Al has topped one billion dollars. He also spent a couple of million on digs in San Francisco and a million or so on his BIG BOAT. Then there is the jet he flies the world in. Oh well–as they say–if you’ve got it flaunt it.
Al,
I am with you brother! We have the infidels surrounded. We will cover them with detonations of death very profound that Allah will rain glory upon us!! every step the great Satan takes will be full of agony and IEDs. We have the crusaders right where we want them!! Fight for Saddam!! Fight for Fat AL!!!

Predictable News
Some news items fall into the category of fully-anticipated reports passed off as if they’re real news instead of events and statements that a well-educated high school student–if there are any–could have predicted.
Examples:
A Brooklyn, N.Y. Office of ACORN Has Been Given a Pass: New York, New York, it’s a wonderful town, especially for pimps employed by Barack Obama’s favorite community organizer, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, acronym ACORN.
The videotaped sting operation conducted by conservative activists Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe last summer helped effect the decline and fall of ACORN which is now on the ropes with little government funding coming its way.
It was all unfair, I tell you, screamed ACORNers, just because they offered instructions on establishing a child prostitution ring and tax avoidance.
The Brooklyn D.A.’s office seems to agree since it has just decided to forego prosecution of those involved since Giles and O’Keefe “edited the tape to meet their agenda,” according to a D.A. source: http://bit.ly/9YUL5a
That means that the Congress of the United States somehow missed that editing and was wrong in cutting the funding and causing the virtual dissolution of the entire ACORN organization.
Don’t Believe Your Lying Eyes on the Upcoming Jobless Figures: They will be released on Friday and to cushion the bad news White House economic advisor Larry Summers has already pinned the blame on Mother Nature. . .
(Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=1534)
Good ol’ NY Times. The same rag of Jayson Blair and Walter (I don’t see no dying Kulaks) Duranty fame.
Thanks God for PJTV, Fox News, Newsmax, etc!!
Republican Senator Inhoffe is now calling for an investigation into misuse of public grant funds by the “Climate Change” industry. Global Warming is a politically motivated religious obession, but it manifests itself as an international criminal conspiracy to steal taxpayer money. Misapplication of funds and fraudulent reports break the law.
We the People demand accountability for this outrageous farce. We demand that an official, dedicated tribunal investigate the facts, name defendants, compel testimony, render a judgment, and pronounce sentence. Gore, Mann, Hansen, Pachuari, Jones, and their crooked colleagues cannot be allowed to get away with this.
Then there are the co-conspirators, beginning with O-Dumbo, Pelosi, and that idiot at the EPA. They have stolen and misdirected $ multi-billions, propagandized our children, and conspired to tyrannize our lives. I’m fed up, and I demand that these scoundrels face serious consequences. All of them.
I wonder if corporate propagandists like Kimball think the oil barons who pay him will allow him to move into one of their self-contained biospheres once their greed has made the earth otherwise incapable of supporting life. Even if they do, I warn the rest of you–they won’t! We all will be left to die on a poisoned, lifeless planet if global capitalism is not crushed very shortly.
Yes, some people exaggerated a little, but how can you expect sensitive, compassionate people to act when they see our Mother Earth who feeds us being relentlessly beaten and raped by men whose greed is more important than life itself. What difference does it make if the air the world over will be unbreathable by 2030 or 2050? They were just defending our planet’s ability to feed us. What could be more important?
@104 bc,

Bloviating. Yep, that sums up the man. And one Gordon Brown, the man posed to save the world financial system.
I’m working on an article right now about the real reason behind all of this- Brokering “carbon credits”. I’ve sent a draft to a economist to make I’m on track, but I believe the real deal is all about creating a new “currency” called carbon credits then people like Soros, Gore and companies like Goldman Sachs are setting up brokerage firms to handle the buying and selling of credit between people and companies, for a small fee of course.
The entire world generates over sixty trillion dollars of GDP. Even one percent annually would make them richer than God. Of course, we’ll be poorer than dirt, but at some point we need to get used to being drones.
I do not think I have ever witnessed a larger collection of right-wing morons in my life. I didn’t think anybody could be this willfully stupid… of course we’re talking about people who watch Fox news AND believe it. *shrug*
