Here’s what the mainstream media has failed to report in its coverage of Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin’s mad-tweets about being detained overnight in a Cairo holding cell.

According to Israel National News, the organization Stop the ISM has taken responsibility for getting Benjamin deported from Egypt:

The news wires were all abuzz today with the report that Medea Benjamin of Code Pink was deported from Egypt on trying to enter Gaza through the Rafah crossing. Stop the ISM, a division of DAFKA.org was responsible for this.

Upon learning that Benjamin was planning a trip to Gaza under the ruse of bringing lanterns to the Palestinian Arabs, our agency contacted the Egyptian embassy in Washington D.C.  and alerted them to her plans. The result was  Egyptian officials met her airplane when she arrived and immediately arrested her.

…Benjamin’s arrest and deportation show a serious shift in Egypt’s relationship with Hamas since the ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood and Morsi from that country. Only days ago, Egypt closed the Hamas office in the country and put out a clear signal that Egypt recognizes that the threat from Hamas extremists poses just as much of a threat to stability in Egypt as elsewhere in the Middle East.

Benjamin is part of the ISM network in the United States and was involved in several excursions to Gaza where her NGO’s would bring support to the Hamas terrorist leadership in Gaza.

Egypt is to be commended for finally putting a stop to this woman’s penchant for encouraging aid to a terrorist organization and disguising that aid as “humanitarian work.”  In any case, her arrest and removal by the Egyptian authorities is the first concrete step taken toward reining in Hamas in Gaza.

Hamas has been aligning itself more and more with Iran, also increasingly supported by Benjamin, so that she is seen as posing a security concern for Egypt.

That would be a good thing for Israel. Let Egypt take control of, and responsibility for that 360-sq.-km viper pit.

When I saw that Benjamin was tweeting from a holding cell in Egypt, I thought, "Good place for her."

So Egypt is willing to do more to help Israel than we are?

Huh, never thought I'd see the day.

Ms. Goldberg: Just as it is Orwellian to use the word 'liberal' to describe today's leftists, it is equally Orwellian to use the term, MSM, to describe the leftist media. A more appropriate set of initials would be VVP: vile, venal press.

It should read: Someone pick up my corpse. I was stoned to death. Typical muslims.

This could be a stretch, but --
Egypt grabbed the Gaza in 1948 during Israel's first war, the same time that Jordan grabbed the West Bank. Until the 1967 war, maps showed Egypt's borders including Gaza and Jordan's borders including the West Bank -- that's how the "independent Palestinian state" was aborted, not by Israel.
Could Egypt be de-legitimizing Hamas to its own people with an eye toward seizing the Gaza again?

"Hamas has been aligning itself more and more with Iran, also increasingly supported by Benjamin."

Nutty Medea Benjamin also traveled to Iran some years ago, and I wondered at the time which subversive (Soros ?) finances this woman's jaunts around the planet.

Her current sponsor ISM (international solidarity movement) is the same crowd that enlisted naive Rachel Corrie to go to Gaza where she ended up trying to wave off an Israeli bulldozer that was destroying smuggling tunnels.

Benjamin and Corrie, both, apparently willingly, used as dupes

HA HA! See? Peace IS possible in the Middle East when Arabs and Jews work together in the interest of peace and harmony!

The only drawback to this incident is that M'dea the Pink Turd will probably be deported gently back to the US to torment the good guys another day, rather than be beaten with sticks and never seen again.

Little by little ... our own country is waking up to the fact that WE are one of the biggest supporters of terrorism via the Muslim Brotherhood and a myriad other terrorist-supporting entities and subversive groups - including our fools in the current administration.
Egypt is taking the correct approach and it definitely IS acting to support Israel; excellent.

"We" aren't anything of the sort, but our President and his high-level appointees are. Votes matter.

Egypt is not acting to support Israel.

Hamas is a bigger threat to the military/secular Egyptian government than it is to Israel.

"Benjamin was detained and deported because the Egyptian government viewed her as a supporter of a terrorist movement, or, as Benjamin put it: “It was like I was a terrorist.”"

ISTR she was one of the people who took money and supplies to al'Qaeda forces fighting the US Marines in Fallujah.

Puhleeze. Egypt is acting in it's own interests. The decades when the Gazans were a handy club to use against Israel and the various Palestinian terrorist factions (including, but also long predating Hamas) were armed and cultivated to attack Israelis (google: Fedayeen) are now in the past and Hamas in particular and Palestinians in general are now a serious threat to Egyptian security. If the Israelis found their ashahim and cut off the power, water, food and free medical care to the Gazans you might be amazed at how docile they'd become.

Exactly! Self interest governs most of what any country does. That it helps Israel is secondary to Egypt's interests.
