The Breakfast of Champions

H.L. Mencken may have enjoyed starting the day with a large, frosty glass of beer. Christopher Hitchens liked to say that Johnnie Walker Black was the “Breakfast of Champions.” Lucius Beebe enjoyed “the noontime Martini” — and Martinis during plenty of additional hours during the day as well. From his URL onward, our own Steve Green has a well-cultivated reputation for knowing his way around the business end of a bottle of vodka.
