Todd Beamer told a phone operator the passengers were going to take the plane back, said the Lord's Prayer with her, and then she heard him say: "Are you ready? Okay. Let's roll." At 9:57 they went for the cockpit. Forty people died. Nobody on the ground did. Todd Beamer and the passengers and crew of Flight 93 are American heroes.
