AOC Joins the Left's Swelling Ranks of Anti-Semites with Corbyn Endorsement

The Corbynization of the Democratic Party continues apace, as progressive superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter on Thursday to endorse UK Labour leader — and noted anti-Semite — Jeremy Corbyn for Prime Minister. They’re a good fit, I suppose. Both AOC and Corbyn share socialist views of economic “justice,” and both represent the far-left wings of political parties increasingly hostile to Jews.

The young bartender-turned-congresscritter retweeted a Labour campaign video, and also added, “The hoarding of wealth by the few is coming at the cost of peoples’ lives. The only way we change is with a massive surge of *new* voters at the polls. UK, Vote!”

To be fair, Labour did import tons of new voters into the UK, mostly from countries with cultures hostile to Jews.

Corbyn’s anti-Semitism, and tolerance of it in his party, is well-documented. So much so that even the lefty New Yorker magazine published a piece last year headlined “Jeremy Corbyn’s Anti-Semitism Crisis.” Here’s a snippet:

Each of Corbyn’s attempts to respond to the issue has somehow managed to make things worse. In the spring of 2016, when I was reporting a Profile of the Labour leader for this magazine, Naz Shah, a member of Corbyn’s Shadow Cabinet, was suspended from the Party for sharing Facebook posts that suggested that Israelis should be relocated to the U.S. (“Problem solved,” she wrote.) The following day, Ken Livingstone, a former mayor of London and long-term Corbyn ally, went on the radio to defend Shah and talked about Hitler instead: “He was supporting Zionism before he went mad and ended up killing six million Jews.” Livingstone was suspended as well. In response, Corbyn ordered a two-month inquiry into anti-Semitism in the Labour Party by Shami Chakrabarti, a respected civil-rights lawyer.

Chakrabarti’s forty-one-page report concluded that the Labour Party was “not overrun” by anti-Semitism, but noted an “occasionally toxic atmosphere” inside the Party. It recommended that members not use slurs such as “Zio,” or “Hitler, Nazi and Holocaust metaphors, distortions and comparisons,” when talking about Israel and the Palestinians.

And as National Review’s Julie Lenarz wrote in August of last year:

Behind Corbyn’s polished façade — beyond the walls of the carefully constructed bubble in which he is celebrated as an anti-racist social-justice campaigner for the most deprived in the world — lies a decades-long record of extensive links with terrorists, racists, and dictators. It explains why three leading Jewish publications recently took the unprecedented step of warning, in a joint editorial, that a government led by Corbyn would pose an “existential threat” to British Jewish life.

Lenarz also noted that “Corbyn once described it as his ‘honour and pleasure’ to host ‘our friends’ from Hamas and Hezbollah in Parliament.”

Charming.

Sucking up to Jew-murdering terrorists is nothing new for 21st-century Democrats. (BTW, what is on Barack Obama’s infamously buried Khalidi tape, anyway?) AOC has at least a couple troubling connections to anti-Semitism, or if we’re being more honest, Jew-hatred. Earlier this year, the Jewish web publication The Schpiel took notice of AOC’s “troubling ties to antisemitism.” Joshua Finkelberg wrote, “This new breed of Democratic legislator is far less reticent about opposing Israel and sometimes even publicly flaunts their anti-semitism. Muslim Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) have publicly supported the BDS while Ocasio-Cortez plays both sides for political gain.”

For their part, both Tlaib and Omar are notorious for playing footsie with some of the world’s worst haters. Earlier this year, both Tlaib and Omar shared an image by an anti-Semitic artist who was once honored in Iran’s Holocaust cartoon contest. You can’t make this stuff up, and these days you don’t have to. And just this morning, “Rashida Tlaib Deletes Tweet Erroneously Blaming White Supremacy for NJ Jewish Market Shootings.” Projection much, Rashida?
