“Free meth lab with every purchase,” probably violates some kind of advertising regulation, but that’s what happened in Rancho Cordova recently:
A couple of California prospectors bidding on defaulted, unopened self-storage units ended up with the remains of a hazardous drug lab instead of any valuables.
Steve Bohannon and his uncle, Ken, tried their hand at an auction at a CubeSmart facility in Rancho Cordova, outside Sacramento.
Their $80 bid looked like a steal — some units contain priceless treasures — until they dug through their haul and discovered boxes that read “Danger! Poison,” on the side, Steve told KCRA-TV.
I’m surprised local authorities didn’t immediately seize the “guilty” property and resell it themselves.
