Oops:

Crews were working early Wednesday morning on a fourth water main break in as many days in Beverly Grove.

The 4-inch pipe broke shortly before midnight in the 600 block of N. Crescent Heights Boulevard, just a little over a mile from a break that took place Tuesday on Blackburn Avenue.

The incident was also less than a mile from a break that happened Sunday at Santa Monica Boulevard and Formosa Avenue and slightly more than a mile away from one that took place Sunday night in the 8300 block of W. 4th Street.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews arrived shortly after 4:30 a.m. Wednesday to work on the pipe that was installed in 1922.

Ten years ago, President Bush signed into law the biggest infrastructure spending bill in history. Four years later, President Obama signed the massive stimulus act, which provided for even more spending on infrastructure.

Yet here we are with one of our major cities unable to keep the drinking water in the pipes during the worst drought in California history.

Where did all that money go?

Bike trails and high-speed trains to nowhere, folks.

Your government at work.
