Grognard Summer

Looks like I’m going to have to take a little more time off this summer than I’d planned.

Hearts of Iron III was the best operational-strategic level WWII game ever, and by such a wide margin that I can’t even think of what might be in second or third place behind it. That said, it looks and feel a little dated, the interface could use the streamlining enjoyed by its Europa Universalis stablemate, and I pray Paradox has fixed the postwar map & event triggers.

If those issues have been address in HOI4, then HOI3, as good as it was, is about to become a distant memory.
