One country, two systems — sh’yeah, right.
There are two sides to the Hong Kong protests. There’s the protestors, imperfect but demanding the simple right, taken for granted in almost every other advanced economy, to choose their own leaders. The other side is represented by the political heirs of the Butchers of Beijing.
Leave it to TNR to “expose” the “uglier side” of one of the world’s most peaceful, decent, and moving demonstration movements, in favor of some weird sort of fealty to Beijing.
