Let Harvard Repay Its Debt to Society

Just a random thought after reading Megan McArdle’s latest on our elites. And that is, once again, Obama got it exactly wrong on student loans. So allow me please to offer my own modest proposal to correct the President’s error, if it’s not already too late.

Under the VodkaPundit Plan, the federal government will give a big discount — or perhaps even repay in full? — the student loans incurred, in any amount, by anyone attending an Ivy League university. Provided, of course, each student, graduated or not, signs a binding agreement never to run for, accept the nomination of, or take an appointment to, any public office, anywhere in the world. Ever.

We might also insist they forever renounce their right to vote, but let’s be generous see how the pilot program goes, first.
