The defeatism is overwhelming.

Each candidate has argued that the US simply can’t handle the situation in Iraq.

Attack Bush for not having a postwar plan (or having the wrong plan), well, that’s fine and fair and good politics. But that’s not the message I’m hearing.

What I hear is, “We need friends, we need more friends, Bush scared away all our friends.”

What I haven’t heard is, “Why did most of our friends not stand beside us when this war started two years ago?”

I’m looking for a Democrat to support, but so far, I don’t see it being any of these people.
