Alex Knapp not only knows we’re at war, he proves it:
Just as the Twin Towers were a symbol of Western capitalism, so is the nightclub a symbol of Western entertainment.
A nightclub is a mullah’s worst nightmare–a building overflowing with alcohol, cigarettes, music, and above all–women dressed immodestly. Women acting like the sexual equals of men. Being pursued by men–but not forced. And sometimes, many times, doing just as much pursuing of men themselves. Nightclubs are where, after a hard week of “exploiting the workers and ‘angin’ on to outdated imperialist dogma,” people can relax and have fun.
Maybe that’s why so many on the loony left (and some on the radical right, too) refuse to believe we’re really at war: They don’t care much for decadent Western fun, either.
