Why I read Mac Thomason’s War Liberal. Commenting on Fred Thompson leaving the Senate:

This is Al Gore’s old seat, but he immediately said he won’t try to get it back. Which is probably a good call, since he couldn’t even beat a Texan in the state in 2000.

I’m a Democrat, but I’m a fan of Thompson’s. He’s one of the good ones, and the Senate will miss him.
