Louis Farrakhan: Jesus Died to Bring About the End of Jewish Civilization

Last week, Nation of Islam (NOI) leader Louis Farrakhan raved about Jesus, and shared his anti-Semitic craze on Facebook and Twitter. He claimed that Jesus tried to “end the civilization of the Jews.” He also called himself the messiah. Democrats have occasionally embraced Farrakhan, and his racial vision of Islam caters to the intersectionality narrative.

Paraphrasing from John 3:16, Farrakhan began, “God so loved His people that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believed in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.” The Bible verse actually says God so loved the world, but Farrakhan declared that God does not love the world, because there are Jews in it.

“God does not love this world. God never sent Jesus to die for this world. Jesus died because he was two thousand years too soon to bring about the end of the civilization of the Jews,” Farrakhan said. “He never was on the cross, there was no Calvary for that Jesus.”

The Nation of Islam leader referenced Wallace Fard Muhammad, since he gave the speech on Saviour’s Day, a holiday celebrating Muhammad’s birth.

“Early one Saturday morning our saviour taught us, when he found out he was two thousand years too soon to end the civilization of the Jews, he decided that he would give his life for the truth that he taught that his name would live until the one that he prefigured came into existence,” Farrakhan said. “And that’s why the Qran says Jesus and his mother Mary were a sign.”

Islamic doctrine considers Jesus a prophet, but not the Son of God. According to the Prophet Mohammed, the New Testament was corrupted by Jesus’s disciples, and what Jesus really taught was the coming of Mohammed. There is no evidence for this idea, and the New Testament came too close after Jesus’ death and resurrection to have been corrupted in this way.

Islam also teaches that Jesus did not die on the cross, but instead he “swooned.” Jesus fainted and the Romans took him down. The Resurrection was more of a re-awakening. Once again, this Islamic doctrine does not make sense given the Gospel accounts of Jesus being scourged and having water mixed with blood pouring from his side — showing his pericardium had filled with fluid, revealing that he had died of asphyxiation.

After briefly touching on the Islamic view of Jesus, Farrakhan started into a longer story, saying, “Jesus didn’t die on Calvary, he died in front of an old Jew’s store that was boarded up and the Roman soldiers came to get him.”

The NOI leader mused, “I don’t know why the Jews had the store open on Saturday, because it was a Saturday morning it was supposed to have been their sabbath. They don’t care about no Sabbath when it came to making money.”

Farrakhan’s anti-Semitism is disgusting, but rarely has so much ugliness come through in one speech as it did here.

The NOI leader tweeted the video of his speech, and “pinned” it to his profile. The tweet has gotten more than 500 “retweets” and more than 700 “likes.” The video has 367,000 views. He also posted the video on Facebook, where it got 42,000 views.

Earlier this month, the NOI leader claimed to be the Messiah, “that Jesus.”

This horrific anti-Semite has posed in photos with many Democrats, including Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), the Rev. Al Sharpton, former attorney general Eric Holder, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), former president Bill Clinton, and former president Barack Obama. Some, like Waters, physically embraced him.

As a black Muslim leader, Farrakhan has strong intersectionality credentials, but his vile hatred of Jews should make him utterly detestable to all Americans. When Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) tweeted disgusting anti-Semitic tropes, Farrakhan praised her, saying she had nothing to apologize for.

Even the far-left smear factory the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) acknowledges the Nation of Islam as a hate group. Every American should condemn this vitriol, and Farrakhan’s decision to link Jesus to his anti-Semitism is particularly horrific.

After all, Jesus was a Jew, and He came to the Jews first. God Himself chose the Jews as His people, deciding to bless the world through them. Farrakhan’s anti-Semitic screed isn’t just hateful and ahistorical, it’s also fundamentally false to the nature of God.
