Update 6:10 p.m. Eastern: Facebook is still struggling with posts. I have still been unable to post anything, even though the social media site is accessible.
Update 2:58 p.m. Eastern: Facebook crashed again but is up again as of now. According to the status check, it last crashed two minutes ago.
Update 2:36 p.m. Eastern: Facebook appears to be up again, but functionality is still limited. I can access my account but I am still unable to post or interact with posts.
Update 2:11 p.m. Eastern: Facebook appears to be down for all users. A report from IsitDownrRghtNow.com, a web traffic monitoring site, is reporting that the social media giant is “DOWN for everyone.”
Original report:
On Wednesday, I tried to post something on Facebook. I got this error message: “There’s a temporary problem with this post. Please try again in a few minutes.”
I tried to interact with posts, “liking” them and commenting on them, and got the same message.
When I turned to Facebook’s support page, I saw this.
A friend of mine tried to post something on my “wall,” and Facebook gave her the same response.
At first, I wondered if Facebook had decided to target me as a conservative and suspend my account, but my friends who have faced suspensions told me this isn’t how Facebook operates. If the social media company suspends you, you know it. It sends you an email or a message to make the situation clear.
When in doubt, check Twitter.
As it turns out, many people have experienced the same problems. Caleb Howe tweeted about it.
Right now, Facebook and Instagram are down. That means nothing that happens actually counts, so go nuts.#facebookdown

“Facebook Down” is trending on Twitter across the United States. Some people have not been able to log in to their accounts.

Technically, Facebook is not down — the site can still be seen and accessed. Users cannot post on the site or interact with posts, however.
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps,” a Facebook spokesperson told PJ Media in a statement. “We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
Others could not post photos on the social media sites.
