Today, 538 electors are meeting in their states to cast votes for president and vice president, usually a formality that seals the results of the general election. Despite there having been more drama this year than in past years due to the contentiousness of the campaign, the Electoral College is almost certain to select Donald J. Trump as the 45th U.S. president.
Left-wing activists, despite having little to no chance of changing the outcome of the presidential election, have descended upon state capitals in a last-ditch effort to sway votes — or, at the very least, to cast a cloud of illegitimacy over the presidency of Donald Trump.
The same progressive activist group that produced a video last week featuring D-list celebrities urging electors to vote against Trump is now promoting today’s rallies across America.
The group, titled Unite for America, was formed in Canada several weeks after the election. Reported the Washington Free Beacon:
Despite the group’s reference to alleged foreign influence in the presidential election, a trace of the group’s URL shows that its website was registered in a foreign country.
According to a search on ICANN WHOIS, a website that provides public access to data on registered URL names, UniteForAmerica.org was created on Nov. 26 with internet service provider Tucows Inc., located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
In related news, documentary filmmaker and noted “big fat idiot” Michael Moore offered to pay the fines of faithless electors who refuse to vote for Trump:

…some states have made it “illegal” for you to vote any other way than for Trump. If you don’t vote for him, your state will fine you $1,000. So here’s my offer to you: I obviously can’t and won’t give you money to vote tomorrow, but If you do vote you’re conscience and you are punished for it, I will personally step up pay your fine which is my legal right to do.

Note that Moore — only two months ago! — had a much different view on accepting the election:

Today, as Republican electors are harassed and deluged with death threats in multiple states, President-elect Trump made the following correct observation on Twitter:
If my many supporters acted and threatened people like those who lost the election are doing, they would be scorned & called terrible names!

Indeed, the most appalling aspect of this entire spectacle is that if the tables were turned, and these were conservatives trying to overturn an election, the Democrat media complex would be in overdrive to discredit the conservative protesters. They would be mocking and disparaging them rather than encouraging them.
At the very least, perhaps faithless elector like Chris Suprun would have already have been under audit by the IRS.

With wins in Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia, Trump now has won 44 electoral votes of the 270 he needs to formally win the presidency. Democrat Hillary Clinton has won Vermont’s three electoral votes.
Republican electors have been under immense pressure, though, with some even facing threats, in the run-up to Monday’s Electoral College vote. Protests were getting underway at state capitals in one last push to get the Trump voters to change their minds.
Despite the efforts, which in recent days even included public appeals by anti-Trump celebrities, a scarce few Republican electors are expected to consider voting for anyone else. Only one Republican elector – Texas’ Chris Suprun – publicly stated he would vote for an alternative candidate. Two others promised to resign and let electors who would back Trump take their place.
Reince Priebus, White House chief of staff in the incoming Trump administration, voiced confidence about the proceedings on “Fox News Sunday.”
“We expect everything to fall in line,” Priebus said.
We may not hear the final result today, as states are given several days to report their numbers. The official result will not be announced until January 6, two weeks before Donald J. Trump is inaugurated outside the capitol.
