Obama Insults 'Lazy' Americans in Laos

During a townhall meeting in Laos Wednesday, President Barack Obama insulted Americans by calling them “lazy.” The president spoke at length and was in his element as he took questions from members of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI).

For one, Obama said Americans’ reluctance to embrace his favored environmental policies is a sign of laziness.

“Usually when you see the environment destroyed, it’s not because it’s necessary for development,” Obama said. “It’s usually because we’re being lazy and we’re not being as creative as we could be about how to do it in a smarter, more sustainable way.”

Thanks Obama — for reminding the world that your way is always the smartest and most enlightened way.

He also accused Americans of being isolated and ignorant because the United States is such a big country.

“The United States is and can be a great force for good in the world. But because we’re such a big country, we haven’t always had to know about other parts of the world,” he said. “If you’re in the United States, sometimes you can feel lazy and think we’re so big we don’t have to really know anything about other people.”

This is vintage Obama. Who can forget how he repeatedly insulted small-minded Americans when he was campaigning for president back in 2008? How he must have hoped that we would change so that his wife would no longer have to be ashamed of the country.

“Don’t judge me because I’ve got a funny name, don’t judge me because I’m African-American,” Obama famously lectured a Jewish crowd at a synagogue in Boca Raton, Florida.

“We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run,” Obama warned Democrat voters in Jacksonville, Florida — meaning evil, racist Republicans. “They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. ‘He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?’”

“What they’re going to try to do is make you scared of me,” Obama said at a rally in Union, Missouri. “You know, he doesn’t look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.”

(Never mind that there’s only one president pictured on the dollar bill — shut up, racist.)

Perhaps most famously, during an appearance at a private fundraiser in San Francisco in April of 2008, Obama said of those who live in rural, middle America, “They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy towards people who aren’t like them.”

Eight years have passed since then and America  — home of the lazy, racist, bitter clingers — still disappoints Obama. Thank goodness his long national nightmare will be over in just a few more months.
